Iris is also my favorite but yes worry about it being very popular next to a more unusual Olympia , hence the Isadora option . Nicknames for Isadora? (other than Isa or Dora none of which I love)

I was going to say Isadora but I 😍 Dora. I think if you don't like ISA or Dora you can't go for that.

Isadora nn Dorry

What about:

Persephone
Seraphina
Calliope
Minerva
Apolline/Apollonia

I like Isadora best. I love Iris more as a name but it’s too short and popular compared to Olympia. Olympia and….

Valentina
Calliope
Venus
Aurora
Evelina
Seraphina

I prefer the spellings Isidora and Adeline.

Edited

I think I do too.

Adaline looks like a typo to me for some reason.

Isadora always reminds me of Isadora Duncan who died in a horrible accident being strangled by her own clothing.

Hestia
Irida
Athena

If you want to stick with the mountain theme:
Namcha
Kerinici
Etna
Rosa

Yes she did! The perils of a long floaty scarf! It dangled over the side of the convertible car she was travelling in and wrapped round the wheel which hauled her over the side and you can imagine the rest. Very tragic, poor lady.

Etna could be terrible if the DD has a temper!

Adaline goes the best with Olympia, by far. Its lovely!

I like Olympia and Adaline best, but what about Olympia and Aveline?

Wasn't Delta a strain of Covid?

Yes but only through numbering, the Covid strains were named Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta - fourth in the alphabet.

Sometimesitsmyownfault · 16/05/2026 21:13

The only name I dislike is Adaline, only because I know a young child with that name and the inevitable shortening to Ada is awful. It sounds harsh and seems so elderly.

Olympia and Delta?

Adaline is beautiful and works very well with Olympia.

BTW it does mean "gift of Isis" so not sure how you feel about that meaning?

Alexandria I don't like because it is primarily a port city in Egypt and also some rather run down areas in other cities: I see it more as a place name. What is wrong with Alexandra though?

Calliopespa · 16/05/2026 20:56

Of your suggested names I'd choose Isadora as the other two are a totally different feel from Olympia and sit uncomfortably with it.

lochmaree · 16/05/2026 20:40

Andromeda

FoxHedgehogBadger · 16/05/2026 20:19

I think Olympia and Iris go perfectly together! I wouldn’t worry about the popularity of Iris. I just looked it up - 700 Irises born in the most recently recorded year, out of how many thousands of baby girls. You aren’t going to find one on every street.

Isadora I find too frilly, especially alongside the strong Olympia.

Adeline I find a different vibe altogether.

You might also like Isobel, Isolde, Adele, Athena.

Isadora - NN Izzy

CheeryMintHiker · 16/05/2026 20:12

Sadie or Izzy (gives her the option to have a more mainstream name if she wishes or use the more unusual full version of Isadora)
