Cassidy & Adelaide Siblings names

Expecting our second daughter, do you feel the name Adelaide is nice & goes well with her sibling Cassidy?

I’m concerned it’s a little too ‘out there’, but do love it & struggling with any alternatives.

Adelaide is lovely, and was the name of my great grandma. It was shortened to Adele back then, Addie is lovely

Adelaide is nice, and Addie is lovely. I think it goes well with Cassidy (and I love Cassie).

Addison would go well too and give similar nicknames.

I love Adelaide. You can use Ada, Adela, Adele, Aidy, Lady, Della or Heidi as potential nicknames

Cassidy is a beautiful name. I can't make any useful comment on Adelaide as I always think of it as being a city in Australia, not a person.

Addie is the obvious short form and goes really nicely with Cassie (which I love 😍).

I like them together, and probably similar level of popularity at the moment? Cassidy sounds more modern and American, and Adelaide more traditional and European, but I don’t think it really matters.

Adelaide is lovely, and shortens well to Addie. Ada doesn't make sense as a shortening to me, as the initial "A" sounds are different.

Yes our 2 year old is called Cassidy, and we shorten it to Cassie. I don’t think Butch Cassidy will be a problem for a child of this generation, I didn’t even know who they were until looking in to the name.

Adelaide we were thinking could be shortened to Ada, Della or Addie

It’s not ‘out there” at all, it’s very traditional! I mean, why do you think the city of Adelaide is named that? (Adelaide of Saxe-Meinigen,wife of William IV).

ETA to say I think it’s a nice name.
