I've said it before and I'll say it again: Marnie sounds like an affectionate term for a Marmite Sarnie.

Claire is fine. A bit blah, but fine.

When said together it sounds to me a bit like Monique Leah.

What's Marnie Surname like.
Most pp seem to be distracted by the middle name.

She'll be Marnie or Marnie Surname most of the time.
It won't matter if names Marnie Claire flow if the surname is Carney or Marley will it.

Marie/Maria are nicer but then you have the Marie Claire issue

A thought, why not spell it Clare instead of Claire? Might stop the 'Marie-Claire' moaners.

I actually always preferred the 'Clare' spelling which is slightly more unusual. Marnie Clare works.

Marnie is ok and doesn't sound whiny. Middle names aren't used much anyway but together it does look like Marie Claire.
Clare is fine but I don't like Clara.

I don't know what people are on about. Marnie is a perfectly nice name what is 'whiny' about it FGS? I also love Claire although sheep like people will automatically say 'dated' as it was so popular in the 60s, 70s and 80s. But so what if it was? It's a lovely name. I prefer it to the currently popular version 'Clara'. Anyway it's only a middle.

The whole name flows fine, and again Claire is a middle name so you won't often be saying the two names together, therefore it won't be mixed up with Marie-Claire. Obviously. Jeez.

In the film Marnie is short for Margaret.

It's also the ghost girl in "When Marnie was there", quite a haunting story (literally). Her name was Marian.

Marnie is a weird name, not pretty, not strong, not striking. It makes me think of the character from Girls (awful) and lily allen (also awful)

I have no love at all for the name Marnie. I just see Marie, but with a mistaken extra N thrown in - sorry!

Claire is lovely as a first or middle name.

I like Marie-Claire (and spelling variants!).

Like PP I’m not keen on Marnie though. And having it so similar to a very well known name just sounds a little odd.
