Help me narrow my baby name list

Already have a Charlotte (Lottie). Surname is double barrelled one syllable names, first starts with an S (eg Smith-Green)

girls I like:
Phoebe
Lucinda (Lucy)
Elodie
Sophie
Clara

boys:
James
Samuel
Henry
Isaac

Any thoughts on narrowing down? Middle names already chosen -Elizabeth for a girl & Thomas for a boy.

I strongly dislike Elodie and not a fan of Henry. The others are all nice though.

Sophie, Phoebe and Clara are lovely, I prefer Lucy to Lucinda, and not as keen on Elodie, prefer Eloise

Boys, James and Henry are good classic names, I like both. Isaac is nice but not as keen on Samuel
Henry Thomas is the one I would pick

Love all your boy names, equal favourites are James and Henry.

Favourite name for a girl from your list is Clara
followed closely by Elodie.

All lovely names, Elodie and James are my favourites. I think you have to ignore what is perceived as popular as its area dependant.

Elodie sounds very similar to Lottie, I would avoid for that reason, although it is a lovely name. I like Lucinda, seems original and pretty shortening to Lucy too.

Choose Sophie, definitely. Or either Samuel or Isaac.

And I agree with a PP, you never/extremely rarely hear the full name said out loud so it doesn’t really matter if the first name goes with it or not.

I like them all! (For once 😄).

All the girls names are lovely.

Slightly prefer Samuel and Isaac over Henry (a bit dull) and James (although I love the nickname Jamie which is very popular where I am in Scotland).

The only thing is that Elodie is very popular at the moment. There might be quite a few in her class.

Always loved the name Phoebe, defo my fave on your list. Elodie is becoming very, very common FYI

I like the shortenings Sam and Sammy for Samuel and also like Isaac.

Re making it work with a middle name, my ds has a middle name that doesn’t go at all with his first name, it sounds very strange out loud, but it’s never been an issue. It’s more just funny. No one has ever said his full name including his middle name out loud for any kind of official purpose. It really doesn’t matter whether it goes well together or not IMO

Have just returned from a weekend at Center Parcs and I was amazed at the number of times I heard “James”. Seems to be a very popular name. Nothing wrong with that if you like it but just FYI.

James is absolutely everywhere. It
must also be the most common middle name for boys so I would avoid it. I prefer Samuel from your list. Classic and with a good nickname.

Neither Lucinda nor Elodie work with Elizabeth as a middle name imo. Lucinda Elizabeth is a mouthful and Elodie Elizabeth is too alliterative. Any of the other three girls' names are fine.

Of the boys' names I like James and Samuel best but they're all nice!
