Thoughts on the name Aria

What do you think of Aria with a surname that rhymes with barley?

It's a nice name but very very popular where I live.

I can almost guarantee a newborn girl will be called Aria and a newborn boy will be called Hunter.

Yes, even without thinking about the Italian meaning (which is a good point) this is my feeling - it's just some sounds. I'm not saying it's NOT a name, because lots of children are now named it, but it doesn't have a lot of weight as a name, in my mind.

I also think of opera and that makes it seem a bit silly to me, as I assume majority of parents are not naming their child due to love of opera. "Symphony" is also a pretty grouping of sounds but I'd avoid unless I wanted people to know how into those I was.

It’s nice but depending on pronunciation, it may be a bit too similar with your surname. I like Anya which is similar.

I don’t think it sounds nice with a surname that rhymes with barley.

I also don’t like it because it’s a word with a meaning that has randomly become a name. To me it sounds as though the parents picked a word at random from a dictionary.

There are two in DCs class, one girl, one boy. Yr6. I’d not come across it as a boy’s name previously.

I just think of Aria Montgomery character from PLL. Beautiful name.. American drama 2010 (Pretty Little Liars) played by Lucy Hale.

If you are pronouncing with an ar sound at the start, rather than a short ah, it doesn't go with your surname due to the repeated ar sounds.

I love it OP. People will say it's trendy etc and it is, but it's a lovely name. It looks like it's already peaked in popularity so I don't think it will get any more popular than it already is.
