DS in Year 3 has multiples of Violet, Florence, Reuben and Joshua.

DD in Reception has more than one Kit, Felix and Beatrice in her year.

How about yours?

There were lots of Davids and Nicholases in my son's year. They even once had a snooker game of Daves v Nicks. James, Dominic and Jeremy came next.

Girls were Sarah, Louise, Jessica followed by Nicola, Elizabeth (Beth), Fiona.

DD in reception has 2x James, 2x Leo and 2x Iyla (different spellings though) in a year group of 28 children. In nursery there was also 2x Felix and 2x Finlay

DD in yr2 has no multiple names at all and hasn’t since preschool.

It’s interesting how local name trends are. I don’t know any Lily’s or Noah’s.
Duplicate names where we are in Y5 and Y3:
Hope
Olivia
Caitlin
Maddison
Denis
Freddie

Yellowchair1 · 09/09/2026 09:42

Oh yes lots of George's too!

thestraycathouse · 31/08/2026 19:45

My daughter is going into Y11 - I swear 90%of her friends have names ending with an -ee sound.

Lily, Milly, darcie, Evie, Alfie, Charlie, Kayleigh, Edie, Marcie…….

BestZebbie · 31/08/2026 19:29

New Yr7 - many many girl names that can be shortened to either Izzy or Bella, three flavours of "Harry" names. Far fewer Theo/Leos, Maya/Mae and Elsa/Esme than in the previous class though.

Bulufect5 · 31/08/2026 19:00

Amelia, variations of Mia/Mya and Isabella/Bella.
For the boys, a lot of Teddys and Freddys.

strawberrykat · 26/08/2026 20:31

So many Leos and Theos. Multiple Isabellas and a few Isabelles, Annabels and Anabellas

beeble347 · 26/08/2026 20:28

DC is not in school yet but among the local baby groups there have been loads of Henrys, Leos, Isaacs and Reubens. I actually had all four on my list though we went for a far more unusual family name from DH's culture!

I met one Reuben whose mum said he was one of several in his baby room at nursery alone! Never knew it had got popular.

Among the secondary girls I work with, there are many variants of Lily, Lilly, Lilah, Isla, Lilliah as well as lots of Evies.

Tunaboona · 26/08/2026 20:25

Honestly very few repeats. Very different to my 1980s primary where all girls were either Emma, Sarah or Rachel and all boys were Luke or Matthew (Matty).

Besidemyselfwithworry · 26/08/2026 20:21

In the current year 3 - going up in Sept there are 6 Isaacs and 5 George’s and 4 Emily’s!!!!

yr 6 another 3 Isaacs

year 9 when In juniors there was 4 mollys!

AgnesMcDoo · 26/08/2026 20:20

Callum, Gregor, Blair, Brodie, Ruiradh

I second this, also SE based.

Everyone is called Isla with a sprinkling of Rubys and Lilly-May/May/Mai/Mae.

Boys are either Alfie or Archie.

That's interesting. I know no Islas, Rubies or Lilys. Also no Alfies or Archies! Also SE.

One thing I have noticed is that there is zero duplication of names in the year below DD's (she is about to start y2, so those about tk start y1; 60 lods in the year). The names that are popular in that year aren't used at all in DD's year.

CharlieBoo · 22/08/2026 23:35

I know 4 Isla’s.. ranging from 14-4 years old. That and Lily are by far the most popular girls names here.. (South East)

Surprisingly few repeats at my daughters school. No two the same in their class but a couple that are similar. Very multicultural group. Across my friends and a wider social circle there seems to be loads of Dylan, Reuben, Sophia/Sofia/Sophies, Oscar, Leo.
