Our favourite girls name and wanted to hear what others thought!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I think it's a strong choice and not a name you hear so much, I was at school with a few Annas in the 90s. Also love Anastasia.

Esperanza25 · 26/04/2026 22:22

Love it!

undergrown · 26/04/2026 22:17

Go for it, it’s lovely
I have a friend who spells it Annah which I think is beautiful 😍
I also love Annabelle/Annabel

LotsOfSmallThings · 26/04/2026 22:17

Absolutely love it, always have! Finally got to use it on my last ever baby (as a middle name, but I’ll take it!) 😁

patooties · 26/04/2026 22:12

I like it but it’s quite dull.

Daffodilsinthespring · 26/04/2026 22:09

Nice and much better than Hannah.

Firebird83 · 26/04/2026 21:57

I love it!

MyNameIsTina · 26/04/2026 21:49

Go for it! Palindromic names are cool

pilates · 26/04/2026 21:49

Very nice

SemperIdem · 26/04/2026 21:41

In all honesty, I think it is a little dull.

Objectively speaking though, it is undeniably a very classic name that travels well and seems to elude any class connotations.

fabricstash · 26/04/2026 21:40

An absolute classic

mellongoose · 26/04/2026 21:37

Lovely name.

Rachie1973 · 26/04/2026 21:35

I have an Anna. She’s 24 now and I still love it.

Chamallo · 26/04/2026 21:29

The blandest available name. I suppose an advantage might be that it’s a completely blank slate name - no preconceptions and very international.

As an Anna, don’t do it. And definitely don’t go with Annie as suggested above. Or Anne, Anne-Marie or any variation of the above.

As another Anna, can I ask why? I've always been very happy with my name!
As other people have pointed out, it's very international, easy to pronounce and remember all around the world, and simple but not boring.
The only problem is that it's pretty common in my generation (born 1980s) but I think that's probably less true now.

Bluegreenbird · 26/04/2026 21:27

Always been a top three for me. But I have two girls so didn’t use it!

JG24 · 26/04/2026 21:25

I love it, it was my third choice of name

Dontnameyourbabyanna · 26/04/2026 21:07

Brownbear8 · 26/04/2026 21:03

It’s alright. I find it a bit bland but it does suit any age and is timeless.

I prefer Annabelle.

luckylavender · 26/04/2026 20:46

Love it.

Everlil · 26/04/2026 20:44

It’s fine and inoffensive.

ChannelLightVessel · 26/04/2026 20:42

It’s my DD’s name (she’s 17): I think it’s timeless, international and goes with all sorts of personalities. But then I may be biased.

MississippiCroc · 26/04/2026 20:35

I really like it and it’s not overused.

Saynototheinevitable · 26/04/2026 20:18

Very classy name which will grow with her as she becomes an adult. You can call her Annie as a nickname if you want but tbh the more classy, grown up version is Anna and that's what I'd stick with.

There are hundreds of Isla's, Ella's, Amelia's in the playground but Anna is very rare so that's what I would choose.

GrillaMilla · 26/04/2026 20:18

Lovely name
