Absolutely classic and beautiful

RevTimothyFarthing · 28/04/2026 12:28

I have an Anna, she's 13 and an absolute delight. We felt it was a timeless, sophisticated, international name.

We're university lecturers and a disproportionate number of academics seem to have daughters named Anna for some reason! (always Anna, not Hannah, Annabel etc)

And she tells me that no-one has ever called her AnnaBanana, despite everyone seeming to think that's a thing for the Annas of the world...😀

Specialneedsnightmare · 27/04/2026 12:43

It's lovely.

Spidey66 · 27/04/2026 10:00

I love it.

Funnily enough my name is Anne and I hate it, to me it's stuck in a 60's time warp. However I love Anna, Hannah and Aine (Irish form of Ann/e, my parents were Irish.)

Anna is smart and sweet.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 27/04/2026 07:23

Very nice. Classic.

Scorpion84 · 27/04/2026 07:00

Loved it , husband wasn't keen as he thought it would be confused and mispronounced as Hannah 🤷🏻‍♀️we went with Ella which has similar vibe but it's more popular

Calliopespa · 27/04/2026 06:59

It's nice.

I would probably jazz it up a bit and have Annabelle, but then I like very feminine names.

But you can't go wrong with Anna. I grew up with lots - often nicknamed Anna Banana! (said with American accent!)

muddyford · 27/04/2026 06:41

Classic and elegant.

wiwaprwfimh70 · 27/04/2026 06:38

Pretty and not over used

brieandbacon · 27/04/2026 06:11

I’m Anna. I love it. One friend calls me Annie which I love too.

FunnyOrca · 27/04/2026 04:49

Beautiful.

A blank slate she can make her own.

Travels well.

AnniesMother · 27/04/2026 02:34

Yes. Anna is timeless and lovely.

LivingTheDreamish · 27/04/2026 01:35

Gorgeous. I never understand why people think it's boring.

Rachie1973 · 27/04/2026 01:32

When I had my Anna, the name Hannah was really popular and it actually led to teachers correcting my child wrongly!

LightDrizzle · 27/04/2026 01:07

Love it!

LovesLabradors · 27/04/2026 01:06

I love it - would have named my DD Anna, only a friend nicked it first - which is really unlucky because it's not that common. I was also thinking of Annabel, which is really pretty too.
Funnily enough my dsis claims the name I did end up using for my DD was her fave name for years (she'd never told us) and was furious with me for 'nicking' her name!

Bbq1 · 27/04/2026 00:51

Anne is nicer and more unusual.

Surelyitscoffeetimenow · 26/04/2026 23:06

Lovely. It would have been top of our list had we been able to use it.

Thefinalcountup · 26/04/2026 22:56

It's fine, it's hard to dislike it but it's a bit dull. I do love Annie though.

user2848502016 · 26/04/2026 22:54

It’s pretty

Giraffehaver · 26/04/2026 22:37

Very lovely. My sister has a Susannah which I also adore
