Thoughts on Madelyn or Carlotta for a sister to Camilla

We are trying to have baby number 2 so I’m thinking of names, we have decided on our boys name.

we have a daughter called Camilla Marie
we call her “Millie” for short or sometimes “Millie Marie”

I have always loved longer traditional full names with cute ie nicknames

we have two choices

Madelyn Mae-nickname Maddie /Maddie Mae
Carlotta Grace- nickname Lottie /Lottie Grace

boys name already decided:

Oliver James - Nickname Ollie

I agree with @RoseField1 — Madeleine is nicer than alternative spellings, which also run the risk of continual mispronunciation. Not Mae. I quite like Carlotta (the fiery bareback riding circus girl in Enid Blyton’s St Clare’s books, but Carlotta and Camilla are too samey together.

Pick Madeleine and a better middle name...

There are some nice names tucked amongst this list op: I think Camilla Marie is sweet, with Marie being a classic but not currently popular middle name. Mille Marie is sweet.

I'm going to be very honest and say I just don't get the attraction of Grace. Greta, Gerda, Grace, Gretel - all those Gr sounding names I fail to see the appeal of as GR just isn't a pretty sound.

Madeline is nice and goes better with Camilla than Carlotta I think, but why the different spelling? if you liked something more unusual, how about Magdalen? Maddie Mae is giving me Rod Stewart "Maggie Mae" vibes, and I think Maddie Mae and Millie Marie together is just getting a bit too saccharine and dollsy.

Carlotta is an interesting one. I think Charlotte is quite nice. Not a favourite, but fine. However I really am getting tired of Lottie. It's everywhere and the more I hear it, the more I think Clotty Lotty. But using Carlotta without shortening to Lottie is an interesting choice, but I'd try to think of something a bit more elegant than Lottie Grace.
