I quite like Stephen (though many will say 'dated'), Stefan, Christopher (not mad on Chris though), and Jesse. Not Jessie though! Do you realise that the 'i' turns it into a girl's name?

Cameron and Elliot are OK.

From your girls' names the only one I really like is Louisa, although Katrina is OK I suppose. Prefer Katherine/Catherine or Caitlin though.

timoteigirl · 22/04/2026 18:16

Stephen - I like Stefan, it feels fresher
Damien - Elizabeth Hurley, 666, Delboy
Cameron - nope. Bad for a boy and worse for a girl
Elliot - very ordinary and popular
Jesse/Jessie - Law and Order detective's baby girl
Cody (could be short for Dakota) - don't like
Corey - similar as above, just a non-name
Christopher - Robin, old people name now
Stefan - yes
Sean - prefer Seamus
Derek/Derrick - no way
Faith - maybe. Prefer other virtue names like Liberty or Hope
Louisa - no. Nickname Loo
Katrina - prefer Katarina
Deanna - feels American so no
Kendra (would call her "Keke") - no so American. Why not just Kiki

Stevie for a boy or girl?

A boy! I'm not keen on it for a girl.

@PinkPonyAnonymous Glasgow!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 18/04/2026 20:53

I don’t like any of them except for Christopher and Louisa, which are both lovely.

bogginbluesticks · 17/04/2026 21:34

I like Elliott, Cameron and Sean from your boys list and Faith and Louisa from the girls.

There's an odd mix here of names I'd expect to hear in my own generation (early 40's) and very American style current names.
As a Scottish person I could never name a boy Jesse, calling a boy a big Jessie was the ultimate insult at my school!

I’ve never heard this? I’m Scottish too and I liked Jesse! 🤣 What region did you hear it in?

OP, are you American? I dislike Cody and Corey. I kind of hate the idea of Derek so much that I think someone should bring it back 🤣 I hope you go for it!

From the girl list, I only like Louisa. Again, a lot of them sound quite American. I think pps have said Louisa is dated, but I think that’s Louise. Louisa is quite timeless.

CarriMarie · 18/04/2026 20:03

Cameron or Elliot
Katrina or Louisa

ButterYellowHair · 18/04/2026 18:50

All perfectly nice and normal.

Except Dakota with the nickname Cody. Dakota and Cody don’t sound alike… one has a K and one a D. Cody alone is lovely.

user2848502016 · 18/04/2026 18:38

Stephen - I like it, classic
Damien - The Omen
Cameron - love, good strong name
Elliot - never liked it but not sure why
Jesse/Jessie - hate it for a boy
Cody (could be short for Dakota) - no
Corey - no
Christopher - nice
Stefan - ok
Sean - nice
Derek/Derrick - awful
Faith - like it
Louisa - yes, pretty
Katrina - yes
Deanna - not keen, prefer Diana
Kendra (would call her "Keke") - I like Kendra but not Keke

RegalDiamondMonster · 18/04/2026 17:54

Stephen - I like the full name but Steve is very dated
Damien - no
Cameron - not a fan
Elliot - very popular, lots of little Elliots around, not my cup of tea
Jesse/Jessie - Jesse as a boy very trendy, has grown on me
Cody (could be short for Dakota) - i think both Cody and Dakota are more mainstream in the UK for early years kids than the comments are suggesting. Not a fan personally but not outlandish.
Corey - as per Cody
Christopher - fine. I dislike Chris as a shortening, similar to Steve, but Kit is lovely.
Stefan - great name, easily my favourite of your boys' names.
Sean - fine
Derek/Derrick - ok.

Faith - not a fan of virtue names
Louisa - yes, good name
Katrina - ok. Kat/Kit/Kitty ok
Deanna - not a fan
Kendra (would call her "Keke") - not a fan

StationJack · 18/04/2026 15:59

Stephen - Stephen/Steven spellings. Overused in my age group
Damien - Damian/Damien spellings
Cameron - Cam. The chap who gave us Brexit.
Elliot - Elliot/Elliott/Eliot
Jesse/Jessie - big jessie
Cody (could be short for Dakota) - too American
Corey - too American
Christopher - OK
Stefan - ok. Not keen on Stef.
Sean - lots of them in my age group. Sean/Seán/Shaun/Shawn
Derek/Derrick - not currently popular

Faith - OK but not if you can't say th
Louisa - fine
Katrina - latrine-a
Deanna - Dee. Deana flows better
Kendra (would call her "Keke") - Keke is not to my taste. It lookss like Keh-keh. Kiki better. Kendra is ok.

mathanxiety · 18/04/2026 02:07

I like Louisa, Stefan, Damien, and Christopher.

The rest are not my taste at all.

Bunnyofhope · 18/04/2026 00:57

My favourites, Stephen and Louisa.

Poodlelove · 18/04/2026 00:03

Not a fan of any , sorry

Why not choose from the top 50 baby names , I am not sure any of your choices are popular at the moment.

tiptoethrutulips · 18/04/2026 00:00

I can't lie, I dislike all of the choices except for Cameron and Christopher

ScruffMuffin · 17/04/2026 23:17

Stephen and Elliot are lovely.
I also like Faith, Louisa, Katrina, Christopher and Cameron.

RubyBirdy · 17/04/2026 22:50

I love Damien, Jesse, Katrina and Faith.

Giraffehaver · 17/04/2026 22:38

Christopher and Louisa are my favourites

doghasnoteeth · 17/04/2026 22:02

Faith is the only name that is my taste.

GoodVibesHere · 17/04/2026 21:50

All nice enough, except Derek. Unless you're going to be giving birth to a 60 year old man in an anorak.

bogginbluesticks · 17/04/2026 21:34

hardliquormixedwithabitofintellect · 17/04/2026 21:33

I like Cameron and Jesse

AnotherName2025 · 17/04/2026 21:30

please remember you asked! I'll also say, most kids just make any name seem lovely & perfect for them and if you just say 'this is x' id probably think it suits them!!

Stephen (my Dads name m, but always Steve 💕 but it feels too dated now)
Damien - no devil link too
Cameron - no specific child who ruined that
Elliot - no personal reasons
Jesse/Jessie - girls name to me.
Cody (could be short for Dakota) - ok but not Dakota (girls name to me)
Corey - no reminds me of the young guy who was abducted & not found.
Christopher - No, also dated)
Stefan - definitely not.
Sean - nope
Derek/Derrick- absolutely definitely not

So, I guess if I had to choose from your list alone I'd go with Cody, but it's not a name I'd choose if I could choose any name.

Faith no dislike these type of faith, hope, charity type names.
Louisa ok dated though
Katrina ok also dated
Deanna - no
Kendra (would call her "Keke") no

But again not names I'd actively choose.

I hope you find names YOU love, that's all that really matters!

Weirdconditionaltense · 17/04/2026 21:30

I like all the boys names except Damien ( as in the Omen), and Cody and Corey ( are they American? Not sure but too wacky).

Love love love Elliot and Christopher .

I like all the girls except Deanna ( creepy song by Nick Cave)

Louisa and Katrina both beautiful names
