Juliet - Very lovely
Annie - Really lovely
Zoe - Always loved this name
Maggie - Cute
Elizabeth - A lovely name and has been for hundreds of years. Lots of shortening options, very nice.
Eve - Nice, but completely boring!

PurpleLovecats · 09/04/2026 13:26

Annie (but would give a longer name like Annabel)
Eve
Elizabeth
Maggie (but would give Margaret)
Juliet
Zoe

RegalDiamondMonster · 09/04/2026 13:23

Elizabeth
Juliet
Zoe
Eve
Maggie
Annie

Try them out with the surname. Bear in mind that a diminutive might be used so try them out too. Use google to check for unfortunate namesakes.

Does anyone really call an Anna Annie? Hmm

cantgardenintherain · 09/04/2026 10:49

Juliet or Eve are nice.

LadyDanburysHat · 09/04/2026 10:45

Zoe - love and never over used
Annie - cute
Eve - nice but so popular for so long
Elizabeth - lots of nicknames but boring as a name
Maggie - not keen
Juliet - blah

MiddleAgedDread · 09/04/2026 10:42

In order of preference:
Zoe
Annie (prefer Anna though)
Elizabeth
Eve
Maggie
Juliet

  1. Zoe - lovely classic name with lovely meaning - 'life'
  2. Eve, also beautiful, the only thing that puts me off is the intense popularity of Eve/Evie/Eva/Evelyn over the last few years
  3. Juliet, very nice but not overpopular I think
  4. Elizabeth, complete classic of course with a wide choice of shortenings, you can't go wrong with Elizabeth
  5. Annie, really sweet but I feel it's more of a diminutive of Anne or Anna. If you'd have said Anna (and then call her Annie day to day) I would actually have put this at number one!
And then...
  1. Maggie, sorry I really dislike it
lonelyplanetmum · 09/04/2026 08:02

Juliet
Annie
Zoe
Elizabeth
Maggie

With Eve it depends if you like very mainstream. Eve, Evie, Eva, Ava are similar and popular. My DDs know at least 5 of them and so we eye roll a bit about the names as we have to always use surnames to identify which one we mean.

Mumofgirls2017 · 09/04/2026 07:54

Juliet
elizabeth
maggie
eve
annie
zoe

DisplayPurposesOnly · 09/04/2026 07:26

Like:
Zoe
Elizabeth
Annie

Dislike:
Maggie (but Margaret (Meg) is nice)
Juliet
Eve

LlynTegid · 09/04/2026 07:14

Maggie I would avoid, instant thought for many would be Mrs Thatcher. Annie I'm not sure about.

Others seem fine to me, preferences would depend on surname and other family names.

Potentially outing but I have an Elizabeth and a Juliet. I love their names. I don't like Jules as a nickname but discovered (from Mumsnet!) Jet / Jettie as a nickname which I love. My tips if you go with these names - decide on a nickname for Elizabeth when young (still working this out, she had a silly nickname but now she is older she doesn't like it) and make peace with people misspelling Juliet as Juliette.

Love Jet as a nn for Juliet. Not heard that before.

LastHotel · 09/04/2026 07:13

Zoe and Elizabeth are strong favourites.
The others are mainly diminutives and just not strong.
ie, Julia is stronger than Juliet.
Margaret is stronger than Maggie.
Anna is stronger than Annie.
Eve is bland these days.

Steelworks · 09/04/2026 07:12

Elizabeth - lovely,
Zoe - quite like
Maggie - not keen
Juliet - not bad
Annie - like
Eve - okay, has been really popular recently.

Sorry, not much help, and haven’t ranked them

CurlewKate · 09/04/2026 07:08

Elisabeth is lovely-lots of good shortenings and unusual. I love Juliet but I’d be put off by pronunciation issues.

user1492757084 · 09/04/2026 01:39

Elizabeth 10
Zoe 9
Annie 8
Maggie 7
Eve and Juliet 6

All nice, non offensive, names.

The popularity of Evie makes me score Eve lower.
My preference for Julia makes me list Juliet lower.

TheLette · 08/04/2026 22:29

Oh and if I had a third daughter, my pick is Zoe. Are you me?! Haha. I also love Annie. All good classic names which everyone knows but are not too commonly used these days.

Maggie is nice, though Margaret is awful.
