Twin girls: ideas for a sister name to go with Caroline

Gentlegiraffe10 · 08/04/2026 13:30

Hi everyone,
I gave birth to twin girls yesterday morning! We didn’t find out the gender before they were born and so we haven’t decided what to call them yet, and as they are currently in NICU due to being prem I have a lot of time on my hands to chose the most perfect names.
One of them will be Caroline (this was DH’s mums name who tragically died earlier this year) as we want to honour DH’s mum and I love the name.
However we can’t think of another girls name that goes with Caroline and that we both like.
The middle names will be Elizabeth and then possibly either Sarah, Emily or Kate.
Any ideas are so welcome!
Thank you x

At least I can spell it.

Oh for goodness sake! Are you so up yourself in real life? We can all have different opinions without resulting to insults, surely? You just make yourself look silly throwing digs on a baby name thread.
And people spell name’s different ways all the time nowadays.

how wonderful!
Caroline and Nancy sound good to me

Twin 1 Caroline Emily
Twin 2 Elizabeth Sarah/Kate

edit - just saw your update. Use Caroline and Sarah as middle names to honour both your mums. Emma Caroline and Elizabeth Sarah

Hi everyone!
Thank you so much for the replies. I LOVE the suggestion of Felicity so thank you so much to the pp who suggested that.
Sarah is my mums name, and Emily and Kate are also family names which can’t be used as first names as it would be confusing. So hopefully the other twin would have a family connection with their middle name.

Sarah was going to be my suggestion before seeing this update!
Why not use that, then both grandmas get the honour of being named after, and both girls will have the same family connection.
Caroline and Sarah are both such beautiful names and sound lovely together.
Congratulations on your babies, how lovely to have twins. Hope they are you are home and well soon.

Caroline is a lovely name, seems very graceful to me so something similar

i was at school with twins Rowena and Caroline. I always thought they were the most sophisticated girls names imaginable at the grand old age of 8!

congratulations

@LassiKopiano24 , I really like Caroline and feel that her sister should have a name just as nice.

I’m not talking about your opinion of the baby name it was the pettiness and rudeness of “least I can spell it” bit cruel to the poster who was like yourself only suggesting a name

Names with a similar meaning (freedom): Charlotte, Francesca, Saoirse (if you have Irish heritage, would probably be a bit odd if you don't!)

Gingercar · 08/04/2026 13:55

That’s your opinion..

At least I can spell it.

Caroline and Felicity

Verity, Vivienne or Josephine

Skybluepinky · 08/04/2026 13:58

Use Caroline as a middle name for both or you are singling out one to be the special one.

Lisanne55 · 08/04/2026 13:57

What is your mother's name or MIL's middle name? It would be nice to have another family name.

Charlotte - both Caroline and Charlotte are feminine forms of Charles
Elizabeth - instead of using it as a middle name
Catherine
Eleanor
Emma
Carla
Constance

It's Lucille and the vibe is totally different to Caroline. Lucy is nice, Lucille is a bit 'Southern Belle'.

That’s your opinion..
