Thoughts on 2 middle names?

Thinking about possibly having 2 middle names for baby boy - but I also don’t want to make it a hassle for us or for him in the future with legal documents or paperwork in general.

Thoughts or Experiences?

Both my boys have two for the simple reason that dh and I couldn’t agree on 1 so we chose 1 each.
It’s not been an issue at all. Raised an eyebrow or two when announced but literally never mattered since.

I don't see the point of middle names either especially if the middle name is a filler middle name like Rose or James.

OP, if you do not have the same surname as the father, get the baby registered with your surname.

Did you mean to post this?

I don't even like having one middle name, seems pointless, but use as many as you want.

DH has two middle names. One is a family surname used as a fore name. He only actually uses his 2nd name and surname.
DS also has 2 middle names.
I have no middle names.

DD has two middle names and no issues. My SIL does too and no issues well into adulthood.

I agree with pp that you don’t want them to all be long names though. Some forms have limited characters.

Something like George Arthur Campbell Smith or Thomas Noah Marcus Smith would be fine.

I wouldn't go for Nathaniel Christopher Alexander Smith (too long) or Thomas Noah-Marcus Smith (hyphen can cause problems).

Some of my family have 2 middle names but it's because their parents gave them a grandparents name from both sides of the family . It's never been a problem with paperwork. Although if someone had 3 very long forenames and a long surname there might be an issue with space when filling forms in

I don't think it's unusual to have 3 forenames and I know one person who has 4 which I think is a bit excessive but there may have been a good reason which I'm unaware of

I have two middle names. It’s never been a hassle, I quite like having two.
