Is it that bad? I really like it, and I've tried it on a few people and they've seemed to like it too. I know of a 3 year old one and she suits it and gets called Bloss. My DH likes it but thinks it's too risky as it's so girly and a bit marmite so she might not like it.
I personally don't think it sounds more girly than Rosie, Poppy etc which are all popular, but I appreciate it is more unusual. I don't really care about the TV series, I didnt see it and kids these days won't know it.

I love it. But then I also like Blossom Dearie. I think it depends on your surname. Blossom Sidebottom would be grim.

As someone who was named BLOSSOM by their hippy mother I urge you to avoid it. It was cute when I was little but when I moved away to university I used a different name of my choosing. I couldn’t face being 18 and introducing myself as Blossom. I couldn’t even use my middle names because they are even bloody worse.

I'm curious as to what could be worse 😆

Would you like to be called Blossom? Can you imagine sitting in a doctor's waiting room and hear them call out "Blossom Peters"? I would be embarrassed tbh although I guess you'd get used to it.

Are you mid pregnancy? I came up with some properly mad names at that stage. My now late teens are horrified by what they were near called!

I would only ever name an animal Blossom its not appropriate for a human.

I used to know someone called Blossom about 50 years ago. She was very exotic looking so it suited her.

I'm sorry OP, but it's horrendous.

Posy is very sweet and a traditional diminutive for Josephine.

Primrose? I don't like it myself, but it's better than Blossom.

Oh, just thought... you don't happen to have Irish connections do you? Bláthnaid (BLAW-nid) is pretty and means 'little flower'. The one I know goes by Bonnie sometimes.

I think it's a pretty name and I think it's fine for a little girl or an adult woman to have a pretty name.

I love Meadow but dhs cousin has a Meadow. I quite like Posy but think it might have the same issue as Blossom.
Lavender is nice, but maybe a bit too much.

I think it's lovely but I love a nature name - my daughter is Willow and she definitely kicks ass at, now, 17! Not a fan of a nickname so would go with Blossom rather than Bloss.

I quite like Bloss and think it's inevitable, even if we don't use it ourselves.
It's the issue round whether it works for an adult woman that concerns me. But there are so many flowery names now, that lots of judges and doctors and lawyers etc will be called Daisy and Willow and Poppy.
I also don't like the idea that feminine names are weak names. I think you can still kick ass as a Blossom.
Thanks for the opinions so far, keep 'em coming. I think it might end up being crossed off as I can't shake the doubts.

Lilac, Meadow, Primrose, Lavender, Daisy, Luella, Tallulah, Posy. Just a few off the top of my head!

I think I like names that are a bit more unusual.
