Is Neelam a good name choice for a future daughter?

Sorry but I find some posters' reactions so thick and small minded, dragging up anything that sounds vaguely like it, just because it's outside their frame of reference. Their world is small...

It sounds quite masculine, like a compound of Neil and Liam. Or maybe people would think you had made up the name because you were a Liam Neeson fan or something.

I'm sure you can find something you like as much but which is prettier.

It's OK, certainly not horrible but not gorgeous either. I don't have any particular associations with it, just vaguely aware of it as an Indian name. Suppose it could be nice if you have good associations, the sound of it is not unpleasant.

It’s a slightly old fashioned Indian name I think — so you won’t meet many other baby Neelams but you may meet some middle aged aunties or grannies. I knew one or two at school but none among my girls’ friends. If you like it it’s fine though, hopefully she will too

No, it's horrible. It doesn't look nice written down, it doesn't sound nice said aloud. The only associations that come with it are needles and knees.

Honestly no.
In the uk the name sounds masculine.
also theres nothing wrong with it but its not a nice name particularly
