What is wrong with Elizabeth Joy. That would have been strong and beautiful.

Putting Ophelia Boudica in the middle is ludicrous imo!! Maybe ONE of them. But both??

Ophelia drowned herself. What an association. And as for Boudica, well, is any child going to live a life like Boudica?!

at Bousdica!

each to their own I guess.....

(Peachy drowns under weight of posts saying actually I have a Boudica....)

can't see what's wrong with them - they obviously mean something to the parents...Ophelia is a great name too..and besides she'll probably just be called Elizabeth or a variation on that...

Ponsonby-Smythe would be posher though.

I've always thought Penelope was quite posh.

reethi96 · 18/06/2008 10:46

I thought that too! There do seem to be some very poncey names in The Times at the moment.

Also I have noticed that there seem to be an awful lot of people with the surname Ponsonby, I only know one Ponsonby in rl a very posh doctor, so is Ponsonby officially considered a posh surname then?

Agree with Boudicca as a second name. I quite like all those names in 'not for me' sort of way.

If that makes sense

LadyThompson · 18/06/2008 10:44

Think you're being a tad harsh, GE! They aren't names I would personally have chosen, but I quite like long names. Gonna give my kid three rather than two. Would give her more if I thought it wouldn't be a bit much (she's getting a first name, plus the name of two Great Grannies).

fryalot · 18/06/2008 10:44

I agree with Johnso - Boudicca is a fabby name for a girl

(not sure I would name a child it as a first name though)

johnso · 18/06/2008 10:43

I think that Boudica is a fantastic name for a child. If I had a daughter I prob would have named her that.
A strong warrior woman with flaming red hair!!

Perhaps names of relations?
