Hi I currently got three names in mind but really could do with some opinions on which flows better🥺 been really hard with girl names as my husband has been super picky:

Ava Rosalie Yates
Robyn Rose Yates
Elsie Grace Yates

Elsie Grace definitely flows the best but I also like Rosalie Ava as I love the names but prefer them that way round- to me that flows more naturally with your surname.

NamingNoNames · 16/02/2026 16:55

@Popsmai , they will only be 'Roman & Robyn' to you. I know two sets of siblings called John and Jane. It's not an issue.

I'd use one of your first names as a middle name, or use Rosalie not Rose.

I like Rosalie and Robin ( not as keen with the y spelling).I’m not keen on Ava due to overuse and pronounciation issues. The other names are pretty but are a bit ‘fillerish’ type names and I would prefer finding names that mean something to you for middle names.

Grace is my sister in laws name so I thought it would be a nice way to connect them, Rosalie because my name is a flower so I found it fitting :)

Elsie Grace or Elsie Rose. I wouldn’t go for two R names

Thanks @Popsmai and apologies for assuming DC1 was a girl.
I don't think I'd have a Robyn and a Roman but it's my favourite of the 3.

Aha no problem, Robyn and Roman kind of sounds like a cheesy tv show to be honest so I don’t know🤣not a massive deal to me though

Rose and Grace are so overdone and boring as middle names. All girls have them (along with May) and Ava and Elsie are so overused.

Give the choice I would pick Ava Rosalie but she would be the 25th Ava in her year at school (exaggeration but it feels that way) I know so many.

I’m honestly not bothered about popularity because focusing too much on it will drive you mad!

I don't really like any of them, but that's due to different taste.

What's your DD called?

I have a son called Roman

@amy480 , Elsie is pretty but I find it a very cute / twee name which is lovely on a little one but perhaps less desirable on an adult.
It's the 10th most popular name for baby girls in England and Wales so it will be a normal name when she's an adult.

Oooh tricky, they’re all lovely. I like Robyn best.

foggyday90 · 16/02/2026 15:52

Robyn Rose

amy480 · 16/02/2026 15:46

Congratulations! Ava Rosalie is gorgeous. I have a baby Ava and I was worried about popularity but since attending baby classes and meeting a lot of babies, I realise how completely varied names are now - plus there are some more of the moment names coming through which I’m hearing a lot more.

Robyn is also great and a very solid choice and I quite like the contrast with Rose.

Can't stand the filler middle names Rose and Grace.
I quite like them as first names but they're meh as middle names.

dailyconniptions · 16/02/2026 15:17

Ava Rosalie, without a doubt. Can't stand the filler middle names Rose and Grace. Robyn sounds male and Elsie sounds geriatric.

Floundering66 · 16/02/2026 15:12

I’d vote for Robyn Rose too

RudolphRNR · 16/02/2026 15:06

Robyn Rose or Robyn Rosalie would be my choices, both so pretty!

ImFineItsAllFine · 16/02/2026 14:50

Ava Rosalie is lovely

FryingPam · 16/02/2026 14:45

They are all beautiful names. Did you consider using two of your first names? I think Rose and Grace are quite overused, but all of your first names are gorgeous. Out of these combinations, I’d probably go for Ava Rosalie.

hazel889 · 16/02/2026 14:42

sorry to be different but I like Robyn rose the best😄
