I had a silkie bantam cockerel called Busby once upon a time. It’s a very silly name for a person though!

I believe the name is a place in Scotland, and was originally a Scottish surname. Personally, it's not a name I'd choose. It sounds like a surname, and as a first name is dreadful.

Why are people insisting on calling their children names of towns just outside Glasgow?!

Paisley as a name is horrendous but Busby is worse.

Some Scottish place names are fine but they don't even have a nice sound!

Quite a good name for a pet dog, cat, rabbit etc. Not for a human child. You'd be setting them up for a lifetime of ridicule and explaining.

See I think of Busby Berkeley. The guy who did the dance choreography in 30s musicals. Maybe I’m wrong. Now that people have mentioned the BT character, that’s even worse! 😳
