Our daughter's name is Eloise and we are expecting another child in the summer. We won't find out the gender.

Our final names are

Girl: Matilda, Simone or Esme

Boy: Arlo, Robin or William

Which are the favourites?

Genevieve has four syllables in French, though - ge-ne-vi-eve.

And Eloise is spelled Éloïse in French, but that’s not how the OP is spelling it, so I’d assume they wouldn’t use the French pronunciation for Genevieve either.

Eloise and Robin sound so sweet… just another option but I also think Robyn is gorgeous for a girl too!

Genevieve and Eloïse both have three syllables though.

Esme is French 💕
Genevieve is really pretty but too many syllables for my husbands taste as he hates having a 4 syllable name
Sylvie is cute but don't love it, but thanks for the suggestions

Esme and Robin.

I like Arlo & Simone best but think Robin & Matilda work best with Eloise.

Eloise is gorgeous.
My faves are Matilda and William.

Simone and Robin are my second choice.

LivingTheDreamish · 05/02/2026 03:11

I like Eloise and Esme together (I'm a fan of a bit of alliteration).

William

Firebird83 · 04/02/2026 23:25

Arlo is going to date badly. I like Matilda and William best.

littlemousebigcheese · 04/02/2026 20:18

Hate robin and Simone. Love Matilda. Arlo is ok

Mosaic80 · 04/02/2026 20:16

I’d go with Robin or Matilda. I know so many arlos and not keen on william, i think i know too many my age who aren’t great 😬. I want like Simone but it’s just not quite doing it for me, I love Sabine though for a similar vibe? Also Celeste.

KnickerlessParsons · 04/02/2026 20:12

And it should be Eloïse

KnickerlessParsons · 04/02/2026 20:11

Abelard?

yikesanotherbooboo · 04/02/2026 20:09

Matilda, Robin and William

BuntyBeaufort · 04/02/2026 20:07

i like William for a boy and Robin for a girl

I've had the name Eloise as my favourite since I was 15 years old 😊 The name existed pre Bridgerton iykyk

Was this your inspiration?
I love the name and my DD would've been Eloise if she hadn't had her name .
I like Mercedes but I couldn't land her with that one !

Esme is my favourite of your girl’s names, if you don’t mind the shared “E” initial with Eloise? I like Matilda but Ellie and Tilly are a bit similar.

Boys, I like William best.

ttcfirsttime26 · 04/02/2026 19:12

Eloise & Esmé
Eloise & William

deeahgwitch · 04/02/2026 19:11

Esme and Arlo

dailyconniptions · 04/02/2026 19:10

Esme and Robin. Names don't need to 'go' though!

DiscoDuck40 · 04/02/2026 19:09

Abelard and Eloise - got to be.

DinoDances · 04/02/2026 19:06

I personally wouldn't want the same initial for siblings so that would easily rule out Esme. My picks would be Matilda and Robin.
