I love the name everyone else hates..

I love love the name Esther. But I’ve been told it’s a grandma name and it sounds horrible. I have loved this name for years and it’s honestly so crushing to hear but I need honest opinions, is the name Esther bad?

It's lovely
I learnt with my first born not to discuss names with anyone but my husband. We had numerous comments on first borns name
2nd baby we just announced his name when he was born and nobody made any comments

It’s a name I really dislike, unfortunately. It’s dowdy and harsh sounding.

It’s not in any way offensive and I think it’s lovely. I think people can feel a little strange about a name that was popular in previous generations re-emerging , but that soon passes.

I think it’s lovely. She will probably have to correct people’s spelling fairly often but that’s the case with a lot of names. Go for it!
