What do you think of Seth? (obv for a boy!!)I like old names and think its a bit different as dont know anyone with that name. But it does conjure up images of an old gamekeeper with huge sideburns and looks a bit like cat weasel (think im showing my age!!)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Weegiemum · 14/06/2008 17:49

I saw him live last summer and he was soooooo dreamy! And of course an exceptionally talented musician, which is what I was appreciating!

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2008 17:42

Oh Weegiemum, a kindred spirit.

When he plays his fiddle and flexes his forearm, I can't breathe for lusting after him.

And I'm a librarian, I don't lust.

Weegiemum · 14/06/2008 17:41

I like it. I really like this Seth

Very dishy and exceptionally talented!

Mummyandi · 14/06/2008 17:37

It actually makes me think of Seth Green the actor who plays dr evils son in the Austin Powers movies and he is quite sweet. I like it. I know DH qould never go for it though

ShowOfHands · 14/06/2008 17:33

I adore Seth. It's on my list should I ever let myself have another. It's a fabulous name.

VictorianSqualor · 14/06/2008 17:27

I really like it, as in really like it.

PuppyMonkey · 14/06/2008 17:27

I think of Seth Armstrong from Emmerdale Farm, not any trendy Seths.

QuintessentialShadows · 14/06/2008 17:25

And this is ... Seth

QuintessentialShadows · 14/06/2008 17:24

And this is ... [http://www.ancient-egypt-online.com/seth-the-egyptian-god.html Seth]]

Be prepared for mayhem.
Lovely name though.

ByTheSea · 14/06/2008 17:24

I'm sorry. It's one of my least favourite names of all times. Along with Todd.

And unfortunately, where I live, people would likely pronounce it Sef.

Tortington · 14/06/2008 17:23

love it

thats tha then - you need no other opinion

Pinkchampagne · 14/06/2008 17:22

I really like the name Seth.

Anglepoise · 14/06/2008 14:35

Apparently he's the Egyptian god of evil ... Perhaps that's why I think of malevolence!

Caz10 · 14/06/2008 13:59

exactly lovetobake!! i had it on my boys list but dh hated it, luckily we had a girl.

this is seth...

missblythe · 14/06/2008 13:56

Love it. Friend has just has a Seth, and he's DELICIOUS. And not old at all.

Love2bake · 14/06/2008 13:53

I love the name Seth - always think of Seth from The OC when I hear it.

TheFallenMadonna · 14/06/2008 13:52

I didn't really mean unusual. That would John or Peter round here. I mean, well, not John or Peter...

Anyway. I like it

getbackinyouryurtjimjams · 14/06/2008 13:50

I know 3 Seth's in their 20's. All nice blokes. (none working on the land!)

mydhissocute · 14/06/2008 13:40

I really don't think its unusual. There are 4 in my m&t group.

mydhissocute · 14/06/2008 13:39

It is Jewish. Son of adam and eve (hence given to sons when an elder child has died)

TheFallenMadonna · 14/06/2008 13:32

I do like it, and I'm not really one for 'unusual' names.

Heffagooday · 14/06/2008 13:31

I like it (mostly because of Cold Comfort Farm though!).

Sunflower100 · 14/06/2008 11:40

I LOVE it and am contemplating it myself for next (if a boy)!!! Knew a Seth in his 20s and he was a brilliant bloke.
If you like it go for it!

popmum · 14/06/2008 11:38

jewish name isn't it?

RIBS · 14/06/2008 11:36
