Dylan is s beautiful name with a beautiful meaning 🌊

Jack is ok. Bit boring.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 27/01/2026 18:39

I prefer Dylan over Jack

Hello19834 · 27/01/2026 18:38

Don't like Dylan so I'd go for Jack.

OceanKitten · 25/01/2026 20:01

Honestly I like both names, but I've always liked Jack for the brief no nonsense sound of it.
It's short, and you can't make it shorter, it's a diminutive for John which is classic, and could be used by your DS in the future if he preferred it.

Much prefer Dylan. A really lovely name.

frecklejuice · 25/01/2026 19:01

I have a Dylan and he’s lovely 😂

CrostaDiPizza · 25/01/2026 18:58

It's not gorgeous. It either sounds like dil or dull.

Dylan is gorgeous. But how do you pronounce it?

Naughty boy vibes? What rot - rude adult vibes.

Or maybe honest adult/teacher vibes?

Not Dylan.

Lollylavender · 25/01/2026 14:13

Jack was THE most popular name for years. There are tens of thousands of them already….

Dylan has a naughty vibe imo

Namingbaba · 25/01/2026 13:25

I like Jack but I’m put off it as so common. I’d choose Dylan out of those two.

CrostaDiPizza · 25/01/2026 13:25

Dylan isn't unusual and there are a lots of middle-aged ones in Wales.

Blueskiesnotgrey · 25/01/2026 12:00

Dylan is lovely, and not too many around. Jack also nice but their are millions, if that bothers you, every year at my school has 5 or 6. I only know a couple of Dylans, abd they are lovely, hard working boys.

CrostaDiPizza · 25/01/2026 11:58

@Pingpongparker , Dylan has 'naughty boy' vibes. I don't like it.

Moreteaandchocolate · 25/01/2026 10:31

Both are lovely, but Dylan is one of my favourite names - not too overused yet familiar and friendly sounding.

BoleynMemories13 · 25/01/2026 10:15

Both are nice, but I prefer Jack of the two. A very solid, 'boyish' classic. Dylan is ok, but has a much softer sound. So it depends what you're looking for.
