Any suggestions? We’re in Scotland. Both names are obviously Scottish but not stuck to it being Scottish but obviously still want it to work together and not stick out. Have been considering Fraser but not sure. Also like James and Samuel.

But Ming is so cool. (not sure if you're aware but it's Mingis ˈmɪŋɪs; like Menzies Campbell)

Edited

I am aware how it is said 😊 still think it's a terrible sounding name 😂 reminds me of people saying oh that's minging 😂

Cameron

It goes well and is a similar longer name (that can be shortened if you wish)
How does it sound with your surname? And any middle names? You don’t need to answer that…just might help you decide.

I love the name Fraser! Popped into my head straight away.
Literally years ago we met a lovely Scottish family on holiday who had an adorable toddler named Fraser. Stuck with me.
Hamish is lovely too.

Occasionalcyclist · 24/01/2026 00:10

Gregor, Angus, Euan, Maxwell (Max), Calum

Pettenell · 23/01/2026 23:59

Fraser is great with your family, and James, always a good name, works fine. I think Samuel just doesn't have the same interesting vibe.

I also like already suggested Magnus, Archie, Hamish, Fergus, Douglas, Struan, Hugh, Mungo, Duncan, Hector.
