I know it's overused in the middle, but what do you think of Mae (spelt this way) as a first name?

I really like it.
I like it spelt Mae as well. But most people will get it wrong and write MAY

AbbeyA · 13/06/2008 21:51

Much prefer it as MAY.

pointydog · 13/06/2008 17:58

Quite like it

ducknineteen · 13/06/2008 17:49

I normally like names spelt traditionally, but the spelling of Mae is lovely
much prefer it to May tbh

EffiePerine · 13/06/2008 17:36

Not keen. Prefer May.

branflake81 · 13/06/2008 17:35

why don't you just spell it MAY. The sound is the same after all.....

ZZMum · 13/06/2008 17:04

name of a porn star...

Astrophe · 13/06/2008 17:03

I think May or Maya is lovely, but don't like Mae sorry.

belgo · 13/06/2008 17:00

Prefer Martha.

Tigerschick · 13/06/2008 16:59

I like it but I think you'll spend your life saying "Mae - M-A-E, no, not Y, E ..."
That said, increasingly few names seem to have one, definitive spelling.
As always, I say: if you like it, then go for it.

NorthernLurker · 13/06/2008 16:59

I know one - it's not my favourite name but it's ok. Sorry not to be more excited.

Moomin · 13/06/2008 16:58

it's pretty. I only associate it with the deep south when it's used a middle name

MamaG · 13/06/2008 16:58

I think you'd forever be saying "no, its M-A-E, not M-A-Y"

pretty name though
