I think mine would be

ds-Otto

dd1-Mabel

and

dd2-Ida

they would have bloody suited them too, though we'd have been laughed out of the playground

Ruby and Harriet

dizzydixies · 12/06/2008 21:15

dd1 as she is
dd2 would've been Dylan

and yes, am fully aware its more commonly used as a boys name

Lastyearsmodel · 12/06/2008 21:09

Ahhh, Maggie - the great name that never was for dd. It was my Irish granny's name but dp swore he hated it all through the pregnancy, so we went for the second choice we both agreed on. Then about 4 months later he says 'Mmm, Maggie's a pretty nice name actually'. Grrrr. But she suits her name now and I'd probably only be wishing we'd called her that instead of Maggie iyswim.

largeginandtonic - well that's just not fair! Margot is a fantastic name - everytime I mentioned it people genuinely thought I was joking .

Now, typically, we have a brand new DS who has a very 'ordinary' name and everyone seems to go rather quiet when I tell them the name we have chosen for him and then say 'ohhh that's nice' in a sort of 'oh how ordinary and boring' tone of voice - I should have called him Jethro (pregnancy hormone induced choice) and let them all titter away .....come to think of it, he's not registered yet .......

Stevie and Lone.

Well, I will use Stevie (for a girl) but maybe not as a first name. Might use Lone as a middle name.

scorpio1 · 12/06/2008 16:46

the boys are named what i wanted

dd - Jessamy (is now a middle name of hers) or Lacey, Lexie

TodayToday · 12/06/2008 16:45

2DDS

Names I liked but DH didn't

Matilda and Eliza
or
Thea and Erin

or if I had been very brave I would have had a Phaedra but I know everyone would pronounce or speel that wrong

Twinkie1 · 12/06/2008 16:45

Monkey and Fish - that is what they should be called as that is how they behave!

Their names they have are perfect although DS was going to be Elliott if it didn;t rhyme with DDs name!

McDreamy · 12/06/2008 16:44

Olivia and Finlay

largeginandtonic · 12/06/2008 16:43

The twins would have been the same (i namwed them all by myself anyway)

DD probably Tiger Lily or Buttercup, maybe Tabitha

ds#3 Noah

ds#4 Rupert

ds#5 Arthur

ChippyMinton · 12/06/2008 16:22

Lexie

With hindsight they would've worked but DH didn't like them.

GreenGodess · 12/06/2008 10:31

Electra
Elijha
Hero

A bit on the superhero side of life but I have not been brave enough yet

ninedragons · 12/06/2008 01:51

DD would have been Flora.

LuLuBai · 11/06/2008 21:56

PMSL Bored - he he he

I was such a geek first time around that at around 7 weeks pregnant I tried to devise a fair and inclusive way of choosing. I created a spreadsheet with names in alphabetic order and suggested that we give each name a rating out of 5 and then discuss the ones with the highest scores.

He was having none of it. Vetoed the whole spreadsheet.

SmugColditz · 11/06/2008 21:55

Jeremy and Dylan

I settled for Jonathan and Daniel instead!

onelittlelion · 11/06/2008 21:55

ds1 Zach and fictional dd Ruby. Dh vetoed both. Do like ds's real name tho and it suits him btter actually .

hayley2u · 11/06/2008 21:54

moira stewart o dear yer. no i would never have agreed to that, but as a young mum to see my mum write this bizare names down was terrifying lol.
i also liked heidi, poppy, erinn, samantha, imogen

boredveryverybored · 11/06/2008 21:50

DD would have been Aoife, exdp vetoed it. In fact he vetoed pretty much everything I came up with and 9mths pregnant and pissed off with everything, screamed 'you pick a fucking name them arsehole' DD has the name he picked lol
