Which would you choose from our final Top 2?

Baby is nearly here and we don't know if it's a boy or a girl. This is our third. Our older two don't have any kind of theme in their names and neither name is in the Top 100 for the UK - not that that's a requirement this time!

Our top choice for a girl are Nancy and Celeste.

For a boy, it's Rudy and Lucien.

What are your thoughts? Which would you choose?

Love Rudy/Rudi, I have 2 quite close friends with boys 7-10 named that though, so I would definitely say there's a chance there will be another in his class as school (if that bothers you).

I can't advise on the boy choices, as neither are to my taste at all.

Nancy is lovely.
Both boy names - neither in a million years, sorry.
Unless you're in the USA, then maybe Rudy, but even then, probably not.

Nancy, although I always seem to think Fancy Nancy.

Really don't like Rudy, I also think rude or rudy cheeks, it always sounds like a nickname to me too.

I like both Nancy and Celeste, but would choose Celeste for its 'grown-up' stylishness. Nancy is bright and bouncy though!

I'm not so keen on the boy names, but would choose Lucien. Rudy just seems open to constant references to 'rude'.

I like Celeste; it mainly makes me think of the heroine of I Lived on Butterfly Hill. Lucien is nice, my only hesitation would be that it might be frequency misspelled as Lucian. Nancy is OK but not my taste, and Rudy feels kind of informal, like it should be short for something.

None of them are awful, but not what I would choose - however, I think it really depends on your associations!

Celeste - Marie Celeste = abandoned weirdly
Nancy - abused girlfriend of Bill Sykes in Oliver
Rudy - can’t not hear ‘rude’
Lucien - keep thinking Lucius = devil

Nancy is cute, Celeste not to my taste but it’s a perfectly reasonable choice.

Rudy, I just hear as someone being called rude! Or maybe a nickname for Rudolph, which is unfortunate timing if your baby is imminent. Lucien is beautiful.

Love Lucien, plus you can’t really call a Christmas baby Rudy because Rudolph springs to mind and kids can be cruel.
Celeste is my favourite of the girls name.

Not keen on any , if pushed Celeste and Lucien but along the same lines I’d go for Esther and Julian .

Well this is a split reaction 😆

I've never met anyone with these names or really know of any famous ones. Nancy from Stranger Things is all I can think of. I hadn't thought of Lucifer being similar to Lucien, I love saying the name aloud

Nancy for a girl. Rudy I’ve only ever heard as a name in the Cosby show so I associate it with a girl, Lucien just reminds me of someone I knew that was such a raging dickhead we called him Lucifer. Probably not helpful.
