Name for my SON!

This will be our third and last baby, and our first boy (still in shock as I was certain it would be another girl!)

We have a Cordelia and Vivienne already, so that’s kind of the vibe.

We like:

Hugo
Peter
Cameron (but I am slightly put off by the meaning)

Any opinions on these or other suggestions are welcome!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Cameron doesnt really go and is another C initial which I would avoid as you already have Cordelia. Also, although I like Hugo it's very popular. Peter is good.
Some other boys names in that kinda vibe including many on our lists -
Dominic
Barnaby
Felix
Jasper
Otis
Nathaniel
Sebastian
Gabriel
Arlo
Raphael

Congratulations!

IMO your girls have 'big' names so your son needs one too. I think another long name would suit best but I realise the 3 are individuals and don't need to sounds like a set.

Perhaps Rafferty, Theodore, Benjamin, Montague or Jonathan?

LoudPlumDog · 20/12/2025 13:19

Cordelia, Vivienne and Peter

Suggestions:

Cordelia, Vivienne and Francis
Cordelia, Vivienne and Alfred
Cordelia, Vivienne and Wyndham
Cordelia, Vivienne and Edward
Cordelia, Vivienne and Ernest

BelleDeJourRose · 20/12/2025 13:01

Peter is my favourite

HugoYorway · 20/12/2025 12:57

Hugo popularity is probably from the Theo, Leo, Arlo trend, @CocoViva .

DallasMajor · 20/12/2025 12:56

I don't think you can have a Cordelia, Vivienne and then plain old Peter.

I don't like Horatio but it has the right vibe.

BreadstickBurglar · 20/12/2025 12:55

Peter is the best match with the other names I think. Not keen on Hugo (golden retriever name) and Cameron feels more American or Australian whereas your other names are more English or European.

other names I think work with Cordelia and Vivienne:

Edwin
Mark/Marcus
Stefan
Frederick
Charles
Max
Aubrey (though that feels more girly now possibly)
Louis
Anthony
Giles

Love your girls names op. Hugo is fab, as is Peter. Congrats on your son.

OldBeyondMyYears · 20/12/2025 12:49

Really not keen on Hugo - and it doesn’t really go with your girls names.

Peter is great though, as are Henry and Edward.

Have you thought about James? That fits with your girls names, as does Robert (which has a similar vibe to Peter).

twiddleit · 20/12/2025 12:48

BeaLola · 20/12/2025 12:43

Love Peter - it's rarely used and it's my DF name and he is the loveliest 94 year old

I must move in different circles! It’s my DF name, both BIL, my (much younger) manager at work and was the name of my first love! Dead common to me!

CocoViva · 20/12/2025 12:48

Ah I wasn’t aware of Hugo becoming popular as I have never met one (or taught one). I obviously have tried to avoid more popular names in the past so might have to reconsider.

Peter is my dad’s name and I have always thought it was really sweet for a little boy but also works for a man.

@HugoYorwayand @Pettenellmy husband is pushing for Horatio. Might have to consider that one!

I was going to say Edward sounds nice with your girls names

Enko · 20/12/2025 12:43

Pemba · 20/12/2025 11:39

I think Peter is really sweet, it is overdue for a comeback. It goes well with your girls' names.

Whereas I don't really like the sound of Hugo, plus it's been popular for a few years now, would be less unusual. It also matches the giris' names though.

I second this view

BeaLola · 20/12/2025 12:43

Sparklesandspandexgallore · 20/12/2025 12:42

Your girls names are lovely.
I think Peter is far too basic to go with your girls names. Hugo is a much better fit.
Sorry but I think of Peter Sutcliffe when someone says Peter.
I’d use Hugo.

soundsofthesixties · 20/12/2025 12:36

David
Paul
Daniel
Thomas
Philip
William

HugoYorway · 20/12/2025 12:25

Not keen on Cameron (will be Cam), Hugo is ok but popular. I like Peter but not keen on Pete and it feels a bit plain.
I suggest Horatio or Hugh.

NoCureForLove · 20/12/2025 12:17

Amos

plumpunnet · 20/12/2025 12:14

Peter and Hugo are lovely

CloudyAgain · 20/12/2025 12:12

I absolutely love love Peter. My best friend has a 16 year old Peter and you just don’t come across them very often in children and teens. It’s a lovely stoic and elegant name IMO

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/12/2025 12:11

Peter is lovely.

YellowStockings · 20/12/2025 12:09

I LOVE Peter (and Edward from other suggestions), not keen on Hugo (sorry).

Edmund
James
Richard
William
Wilfred
Christopher
Rupert

I like Peter and Hugh

freshsunday · 20/12/2025 11:56

Peter is lovely - both in how it sounds and looks written down. I imagine a strong and thoughtful boy/man!

Norastroud · 20/12/2025 11:50

Congratulations, from your list I think Peter is lovely name & goes well with your daughters names.
