Sister for Ottilie and Astoria

SJone0101 · 10/12/2025 12:58

I have 2 daughters so far (Ottilie/Ottie and Astoria/Torie), what would you go with for their next sister due in March?

Delilah / Lilah
Persephone / Seffie (I love Roman history)
Florence / Florrie
Adaline / Ada
Violet / Lettie

Please add any extra. I would prefer a name not in the top 20, with the ability to shorten it like the above.

Persephone is Greek.

why do you need a nickname? Just use the name. Adelaide is Ada usually. Im assuming you don’t want Waldorf.

On a serious note - Roman names:
Julia
Valentina
Octavia
Livia
Faustina
Augusta
Agrippina
Paulina
Valeria
Antonia

Pandora / Dora

Funderthighs · 10/12/2025 16:24

I’d choose Persephone but shorten it to Percy.

Beerlzebub · 10/12/2025 16:20

I would say that Ophelia is becoming as popular as Ottilie is.

Persephone is also rising up the ranks.

I love Serafina, as a PP posted.

puddingandsun · 10/12/2025 16:19

Persephone is obvs Greek, not Roman.

Not many people have an Aurelia. I love it and think it would go well with your other dd’s names.

SJone0101 · 10/12/2025 13:55

Thank you ladies!!

I really do love Persephone but I just know we will come up against spelling situations and general pronunciation problems. I do love Seffie though.

Understatement!
To go with your other DDs I'd be avoiding another name ending in "ie". Not keen on Lilah or Ada though.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 10/12/2025 16:13

Constance is lovely

dancerdog · 10/12/2025 16:10

Persephone is a Greek goddess.

Choconuttolata · 10/12/2025 16:06

Josephine - Fina/Phina/Joss/Sephy

Georgina - Georgie

Isabella - Bella

Olivia/Livia - Liv

Adelaide - Della

Cordelia - Cora

Vivienne - Vivi

Natalia - Tali

Juniper - Junie/Juno

Congrats! From your list, I prefer Florence.

It always takes me a few seconds to read Persephone. In my head, I read Percy-phone. Then, when I get it correct, it sounds like a mis pronunciation of Steffanie, with the additional 'Pur' bit at the front for no reason. Might just be me?

Others:
Odette, but maybe too similar to Ottilie
Aspen, but too similar to Astoria
Coralie nn Coral/Cora
Rosalia nn Rose/Rosa
Anastasia nn Ana/Stace
Francesca nn Fran
Athena
Yolanda

APatternGrammar · 10/12/2025 15:30

Of your list, Persephone

Otherwise:
Calliope (Callie)
Niobe (Nio)
Scheherazade (maybe not Sherrie)
Angharad (Harry)
Stella Maris (Stella)

CrostaDiPizza · 10/12/2025 14:07

Seraphina, Stefania or Josephine 'nn' Sephie
