Sister for Ottilie and Astoria

I have 2 daughters so far (Ottilie/Ottie and Astoria/Torie), what would you go with for their next sister due in March?

Delilah / Lilah
Persephone / Seffie (I love Roman history)
Florence / Florrie
Adaline / Ada
Violet / Lettie

Please add any extra. I would prefer a name not in the top 20, with the ability to shorten it like the above.

Artemis nn Temmie?

Or Missy.

The problem for me with Antigone is everyone will pronounce it Anti gone as in bone. And that’s particularly ugly.

You could use Tigs as a nn for any name. My sisters’ nns have nothing to do with their names.

KarriTreeSullivan · 15/12/2025 10:51

Oh I love Adaline! What a gorgeous name.

Also really love Delilah, as long as you don't live in Wales/mind the song although perhaps the song is a bit old fashioned now it won't be a problem.

I'd worry Florence is a bit boring and mainstream compared to your other daughters.

I used to think Persephone was absolutely bonkers and terrible, but I see it on here so much now I'm quite used to it, Seffie is sweet too.

Violet = violent, school bully type name to me. Looks a bit harsh next to the others but that could just be my personal (possibly unreasonable) dislike for the name!

How about Georgina/Georgiana, Ariadne, Penelope?

Congratulations!

I used to know sisters called Persephone/Seph, Antigone/Tigs and Calliope/Callie. All names of a similar type, but I love Persephone. Also knew a Hepzibah.

I love all of those! My DH liked Antigone / Tigs. We would probably go with Tiggie but we shorten Ottie to Otts quite a bit so Tigs would also work.

Not what you asked but Astoria makes me wistful for moshpits at 90s metal gigs. In fact the new DD could be Astoria 2 or LA2 for short.

Persephone is a Greek Goddess, not Roman…

Handrearedmagpie · 13/12/2025 21:11

I immediately thought Seraphina, which you could get Seffie from,

watermybegonias · 13/12/2025 18:11

Calliope - Callie

GroundControlToMajorTomCat · 13/12/2025 18:08

This is completely off-topic but isn’t Persephone a Greek name or am I mistaken?

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/12/2025 17:57

Justcallmedaffodil · 10/12/2025 13:30

Of your choices I like Persephone best.

How about Arabella/Bella?

To go with the OP’s current style Arabella would need to be shortened to Bellie.

thebeautifulsky · 13/12/2025 17:52

Persephone for me. Beautiful name. It's nice to have a unusual name that can be abbreviated. I was born on Christmas Day so have a fitting name but it can be shortened to something more typical if needed. Any child called Persephone will love her unusual name I'm sure.

Dominoeffecter · 13/12/2025 17:36

Evangeline
Ophelia

please don’t choose Lettice
