And how would you initially pronounce it?

Naya like Naya Rivera or with the emphasis on the Y?

I read it like Naya Rivera

Nay Way, it’s awful. And asking how people would pronounce it means that for years to come your child would have their name incorrectly pronounced.

I can hear it in the register now. Aoife, Evelyn, Maya, Naya, Saoirse

Nigh-ah. Too similar to Maya.

I’ve only seen the name as Nyah - I think on a character in one of the Mission Impossible films. It’s nice enough, albeit very similar in sound/style to Maya/Mya. Like a previous poster (and just like with Maya), if it was spelt Naya I wouldn’t be sure if it was “Nay-ah” or “Ny-ah”.

Like Maya I would not know if it's My-a or May-a. I think it would also get misheard as Maya.

Yes, this is what I think too.

Grandmashorty · 28/11/2025 21:47

I know a Nyah - it’s a pretty name

Makingpeace · 28/11/2025 21:44

It's a nay to Naya from me

Enko · 28/11/2025 21:43

I like Naya but ai would put emphasis on the Y first time I said it
