at the moment the shortlist is:

  • Frederick William
  • Theodore William
  • Oscar William
  • Alfie William
  • Arthur William
  • Archie William
  • Henry William
  • Patrick William
any new suggestions welcome

Like:
Patrick (will DS3 and DS4 be David and Andrew?)
Henry (wouldn't worry about the cousin)
Arthur - but very popular
Frederick - not sure. Freddie's ok
Oscar - not sure

Suggest:
Thomas
David
Michael
Peter
James
Louis Wink
Charlie
Harry
Toby
Sam

Bin:
Alfie
Archie
Theodore.

I’m not keen on Alfie but love the rest.
we have a Patrick and a Theodore. Just be aware Patrick is often shortened to Paddy. Which is better than Pat (imo). Some people get funny about “Paddy”. I certainly had remarks from a snooty grandparent about “dirty ole Irish man”. Yes really. 🤔

also Theodore - do you want a Theo or a Teddy. Decide quickly and let people know.
otherwise they choose the other version and it takes years to deprogramme (yes. We have experience with this one!)

have you thought about
Charles/Charlie?
Peregrine/Perry?
Rupert/Roo?
Ralph?
Albert/Albie/Bertie?
Phinnaeus / Finn?
Austin?
Rollo?
Cosmo?

I like all apart from Alfie (although Alfred is fine). I’m less keen on Patrick than the others. Favourites are Frederick and Arthur.

FleurDeFleur · 05/11/2025 10:02

I like pps suggestions for Richard and Christopher, they're lovely names and haven't been used much of late.

Zitroneneis · 05/11/2025 09:58

I like your suggestions of Henry and Arthur. I’m not keen on Alfie.

Or how about

Christopher William
Quentin William
Alexander William

FleurDeFleur · 05/11/2025 09:56

I was going to suggest Henry!
Frederick is my favourite.
Patrick is lovely, and now quite unusual.
How about:
Edward
Anthony
Laurence
David
I like your list apart from Alfie and Archie. They're both very common, and will probably date, if that matters to you.

I like all those with the exception of Patrick. Edward? Richard? Going with the King theme.
