Kitrick...?

So our son is names Kit. My husband and I put down Kristian on the BC as my husband wanted a 'full name'. I have never gelled with Kristian despite us only calling him Kit. If I were to change it I really like Kitrick! (I actually find myself calling him that when I want to full name bim). I just wanted to know people's thoughts on the name! I think it's Scottish and means 'true victory'!

It's not Scottish, it's one of those American "my great great great grandfather was Scottish so I'm also Scottish and here are my children Kitrick, Ochaye and Haggis." names.

What on earth is wrong with Christopher if you're never going to use it anyway? That's what Kit is a diminutive of.

Christopher surely for Kit? Kit’s not a shortened version of Kristian.

I know it as an Irish surname. I don't mind it for a first name but why if you aren't going to use it would you bother, just name him kit

Not sure as it seems a bit too unusual. I love Kit however and Kristian is s a nice name.

It's definitely not better than Kristian. Just call him Kit and ignore what's on the birth certificate. He can change it when he's older if he's bothered.
