need help with middle names please.. being very difficult this time round normally very easy but oh well, appreciate any ideas 😍
already have a DS -> Rian Sean and a DD -> Mia Skye
for DC#3 have thought of Emma Layke or Amy Layke for a girl and for boy we love the first name Jace but can't decide on a middle name I like the name Liam but kind of think it doesn't flow properly can't explain...any ideas would be welcome 😊

Yes because you are pronouncing it wrong. Ryan and Rian are two completely different names with different pronunciations.

But OP wasn't asking opinions on the existing children's names? Those ones are done and in existence; even if you don't like their names or think they're pronounced wrong etc it's not going to change anything!

OP Emma and Amy are both good - i prefer Amy with Mia. Not a fan of Layke, is there a family name you could use?
For the boy, I'd go for Liam Jason maybe?

Rian is not pronounced like Ryan. Rian is an Irish name and is pronounced Reen.

@dontcomeatme I'm leaning more toward Amy too tbh...I like the name Luca but DH has too many friends named Luca...don't really like the JJ idea..xx

I think Emma and Mia sound more alike. Amy sounds totally different and goes quite nicely. Is Jace Luca too much? I like it.
Would you do a J middle name for Jace and then call him JJ? Like Jace James for example? X

Ec2808 · 02/10/2025 13:12

that's what we did for DS he got Sean like my grandad that sadly passed

@JillyGiraffe Rian is pronounced the same as with a Y so ryan 😊Mia is mee-a yess...DH also thought Amy sounded similar...very difficult for girl names 😅has to be short and sweet 😊

My view on middle names is to think of one that remembers a family member, perhaps someone who you loved as a child who is no longer alive.

JillyGiraffe · 02/10/2025 13:08

Is Rian pronounced Ree-an? And Mia the usual Mee-a? I’m wondering if Amy is a little too similar. Will have a think of some suggestions..!
