Although I like more unusual names, having one myself I have gone for more classic names for my daughters and this time have short listed Alice or Lucy (I like many others but DH not very imaginative!. But we both quite like Willow, I think it's pretty but the couple of people I mentioned it to thought it was too 'new agey'. I would like some honest opinions so don't worry about hurting my feelings, I can take it

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i is quite a nice name; I think I like it It is the name of Richard Hammond's youngest daughter.

I had a gorgeous cat called Willow. I think it's a lovely name, very pretty, but I'd be wary of it in case your daughter ends up not suiting it. I picture a woman called Willow to be tall and slim and gorgeous. When we thought we might be having a girl, DH liked the name Grace, but it was unlikely that a child of mine was going to be graceful!!

I think your instinct is good. If your daughters have classic names then Alice (my favourite - it was my grandmother's name but my husband vetoed it for our daughter) or Lucy would be good choices. Can't explain why, but although I like flower names - Violet, Primrose, Fleur and many others - I don't like Willow. I think it probably does have too many hippy, new agey connotations. And wasn't it also a film in the Hobbit/LOTR vein?

But, as always, pick names that you like and don't be deterred by what those of us avoiding the Hoovering by posting on MN think.

It's all about Buffy for me.
Ooh, or that film with Warwick wotsit in it, I loved that film when I was younger.
