Gabrielle?

Hi all, I have one DD named Charlotte and I’m expecting DD2. Recently while on holiday I met a lovely young woman named Gabrielle and have been in love with the name since.

Charlotte is 7 and so far we have avoided any nicknames but I sort of like Gabby or even Elle as a nickname anyway.

DH is worried people would pronounce it Gay-bree-elle instead of Gah-bree-elle though.

What are your thoughts on Gabrielle?

I like it but prefer Gabriella. I like Gabby for short.

i know someone with twins called Siobhan and Gabrielle-known as Smash and Grab! Not relevant-but it always makes me smile.

Beautiful name. I know a Gabrielle and her name wasn’t shortened. Second what a pp said about Gay-bree-Elle being the male version and I’d like to think most people would know the difference in pronunciation

It’s a beautiful name in theory, but the “gab” sound is unpleasant and the shortening “Gabby” isn’t great.

Gay-bree-elle is the male version - Gabriel. Gabrielle is always how you want it pronounced. I quite like it. Think it goes quite well with Charlotte.
