Hi everyone
I'm now 25 weeks pregnant with a little girl. We have a 2 year old daughter called Freya and DH and I have become a bit overloaded with names. Love the sound of some names but they are just way too popular such as Olivia, Isla. I want something less common not necessarily unique I've looked at some name lists but need some help with suggestions. Our lists keep changing my DH has happily settled on a couple of names which I've then vetoed probably thanks to my hormones.

At the moment my favourite is Norah but this tends to change quickly. I also like Abigail, Alisha, Sylvie, Heidi, Erin, Niamh and Mara not a definite list so open to other names. Just hoping to see one and think that's the one.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Norah is cute.

Phoebe and Freya?

Mistyglade · 09/09/2025 12:29

I love Mila or Mira.

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/09/2025 09:46

I know a Berenice and I quite like it.
Delores looks like a bad spelling of Dolores.
Sinead seems dated.
Fidelma seems a bit like the parents wanted another F name but not one as popular as Freya or Florence.

Other than Sinead and Rosamund they seem like dated religious RC names.

Berenice is related to the name Veronica.

Ooo Heidi is lovely! I've not heard that name in a long time.

MinPinSins · 09/09/2025 08:59

Does it bother you how popular Freya is? If not, I think you should use Olivia or Isla if they are what they love - last year Isla was the 4th most popular name, Freya was the 5th most popular the year you picked it so very similar.
As you've probably seen with Freya, top 10 names are much less used than they used to be, so it's not as much an issue as it was.

Agree with other pp, Heidi is perfect. My friends DDs are Freya and Sofia and I love that combo too x

DuchessOfNarcissex · 09/09/2025 08:43

Given how popular the name Freya is, I would not worry about popularity.
You have plenty of time to pick a name.

Pronounced beerta.

ILoveWhales · 08/09/2025 22:48

You have 15 weeks to go. You dont need to have a name, middle name and pre chosen nickname ready before birth.

There is no hurry.
