I love Cordelia. Cordy or Della (not for you) for short. Dh vetoed it from my list.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 22:18

Well there's logic for you .

I think she means birth control pill!

If you're so keen on Jude, then why not Judith for a girl, which can be shortened to the same?

I love Henrietta too, which can be shortened to Hetty or Hen.
Or Harriet, with Hats, Hattie or Harry as nns.

dizzydixies · 30/05/2008 22:17

Cordelia - that was it

means heart from latin or celtic - daughter of the sea

Claudia means Lame or little lame one

cantsleepwontsleep rudy and reuben are completely different but I think a baby Rudy is very sweet and frankly if you can get 'pants' from Nancy why not Rudy from Reuben

A one syllable name works really well, yes.

Celeste and Jasmine are both bcp. I never took either but I still know that. Puts me off.

Celine is better than Celeste imo.

Am I right that you don't know any body with children called Georgina/Nina,Gigi, Nancy or Eve??

mamatama I could do with a serene composed dc tbh, esp after dd2 who fulfills the meaning of her name exactly - she is a wee thug

I think Cassius is fab and goes with the girls names well and would be nice shortened to Cass

Reuben would make a nice Rudy when he is wee?

Jude fulfills the one syllable

Ella, Lexie and Jude - very finished iyswim? does that make sense or silly?

Caleb and Roan am not so sure of anymore

Corin I still like but not as strong a contender as Cassius, Jude or Reuben

god am going round in circles

GreenElizabeth · 30/05/2008 21:48

Definitely can't have Isabella and an Annabel. That is too many bels.

Dizzy, your baby is like a ship, and I name her............... Eve (Evelyn) in full to match the long name short name thing.

Eve or Nancy or Nina OK? now shuddup.

(only joking!)

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 21:47

How do you get Rudy from Reuben btw? Isn't Rudy a completely different name?

sweetkitty · 30/05/2008 21:47

Celeste or Clemintine

your mother is going to HATE both (Brucie bonus)

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 21:46

nn for Tabatha is Tabs.

How about Serena Celeste???
Sounds dreamy to me...

Pollyanna · 30/05/2008 21:37

(although Phoebe is lovely, we call ours fifi, or Bee).

Pollyanna · 30/05/2008 21:36

my Isabella is known as Izzy and my Alexandra is known by her middle name - but the thought was there

I also liked Eleanor (Nell) and Florence

I had loads of girls names I liked, but we took about 4 weeks to name ds2.

Go with Clemmie - it's lovely imo.

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/05/2008 21:35

I'm with dizzy on that one. I think that Isabella and Annabel are too similar.
