It's a solid list, very much in the classic and inoffensive territory.

Amelia is pretty overdone - I really don't think we need any more Amelias at the moment. Alice is my absolute favourite.

I agree. All solid. Alice my favourite, Sophia probably next.

Amelia is pretty but getting overused.

Eloise is probably the most unusual but its also my least favourite of this list except for Grace, which I accept is popular but I personally don't like the sound. A hard "G" always sounds quite ugly to me, and it has a scratchy or grating sound ( or maybe my brain sees Grace and thinks Grate).

So for me I'd probably say Alice, which I think is a beautiful name.

Berlinlover · 20/08/2025 20:59

Sophia and Grace are my favourites.

mathanxiety · 20/08/2025 20:48

All pretty and popular.

Alice is by far my favourite.

AdaColeman · 20/08/2025 20:41

Sophie/Sophia has been in the top five names for many years, so there will be thousands of them already, and Amelia and its variants isn't far behind.
I prefer the more traditional spelling of Heloise, and it is a pretty name, but again there are so many Ellie, Evie and Ellas out there already.
Grace was a go to middle name a couple of years ago, but seems to have faded a little now.
Alice is lovely, and though enduringly popular, it isn't over used, so from your list, it's my favourite.

ChocoChocoLatte · 20/08/2025 20:22

Alice. Simply glorious

user2848502016 · 20/08/2025 20:09

All beautiful names.
I think my favourites are Eloise and Alice

Norastroud · 20/08/2025 20:07

All really pretty names!
You can’t go wrong with any of them but think I’d pick Amelia, I think it’s a lovely name & love the shortened options of Mia or Milly.
2nd choice Sophia!
I do love Grace but worry it’s a bit descriptive.

Osmosisfreight · 20/08/2025 19:14

They are all pretty, I think Eloise is growing in popularity, I know a few people who have had Eloise’s recently. Not sure if it’s down to Bridgerton and the fact that Sofia Ritchie called her daughter Eloise. My name is on that list and was never popular when I was a girl now its everywhere, so as all classic names they come and go.

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 20/08/2025 19:12

All are nice, except Grace. I don't like it at all, I 'm not sure why as I don't know any.
Eloise is my favourite.

Firsttimebabymummy · 20/08/2025 19:09

Alice and Eloise are my favourites although all are lovely.

Sophia
Eloise
Alice
Grace
Amelia

There are all very safe choices and very popular.

Id say Alice as it is more classic.

Avocadohoho · 20/08/2025 16:32

I agree with the pp who said we really don’t need anymore Amelia’s. It’s so overused. Same with Grace, it doesn’t help that it’s highly overused as a middle name or hyphenated with a first name. Don’t really hear Eloise.

Cocktailsandcheese · 20/08/2025 16:17

All really lovely. My favourites are Eloise and Sophia, but you can't go wrong with any of those!

Alexandrine · 20/08/2025 16:16

Sorry it posted twice🤦‍♀️

Alexandrine · 20/08/2025 16:13

Alice is one of the ultimate classics. There are very few girls names that have only occasionally left the Top 100 and Alice is one of them. It’s a fairly “can’t go wrong” name (along with choices like Elizabeth and Maria.)

I also like Sophia, very elegant and has a lovely meaning. Only issue is that between the popularity of Sophie and Sofia too, there might be more spelling confusion/mistakes.

Am ambivalent about Grace, Amelia and Eloise. They are heard often enough that they are hard to dislike (or at least the other “El” names are heard/popular enough in Eloise case), but I personally don’t like the sound of them quite as much as Alice or Sophia.

ilovepixie · 20/08/2025 15:10

Alice is the nicest. The rest are very overused.

delightfulmusic · 20/08/2025 15:09

Grace, lovely name

Daffy18 · 20/08/2025 15:05

I don’t hate your name list but but they are all very common now and a bit meh

what about Sarah or Rebecca classic names due a comeback

marshmallowfinder · 20/08/2025 12:26

Alice and Grace are wet. Eloise is OK. Sophia is pretty bland and common. Amelia is just awful. The 'mealy' noise in it is terrible plus it's a medical word meaning absence of limbs, so NO.

Mumofgirls2017 · 20/08/2025 12:22

Sophia- pretty and well liked name though may be quite a lot depending on area
Eloise- love it (though not a fan of Ellie)
Alice- love
Grace- not a fan of this as all I’ve met aren’t typically ‘graceful’
Amelia- I personally can’t get on board but that’s due to a negative association I have. Also there’s just so many around

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 20/08/2025 12:10

I prefer Sophie to Sophia, in which case that would be my favourite. Alice is lovely too.

Grace and Amelia are WAY too popular for my taste now.

Eloise, another Ellie? No thanks.

What about Michelle or Stephanie?

Emanwenym · 20/08/2025 12:05

Grace will always be Grace. It gets Gracie, which can sound like Gricy here.
It is a beautiful name. The meaning is but the sounds aren't.
The only concern is what if she is really clumsy? Almost a given.

Mumofteenandtween · 20/08/2025 11:46

They are all lovely. Do you like all the shortenings? I am not a big fan of “Soph” even though I love both Sophia and Sophie. No idea why.

Elle and Ellie are lovely.

Alice is harder to shorten but I really like Ally, not so keen on Al.

Grace will always be Grace. It is a beautiful name. The only concern is what if she is really clumsy? 😂 I am speaking as an adult who constantly falls over my own feet!

Amelia could be Amy, Milly or Mia. All really pretty. I did know an Amelia that was called “Meel” or “Meels” which seemed a terrible butcher of a beautiful name.

PInkyStarfish · 20/08/2025 11:35

Eloise is lovely.

Wanderlust86 · 20/08/2025 11:34

Love Alice. The rest are lovely names but very popular now.
