Hello, my daughter is called Matilda and when we're in Spain (rather a lot) she gets called Matilde, i absolutely love Ima (for Immaculada and would even add the de la concepccion bit if i could get away with it!) on a tangent my son is called Bear, not very spanish at all!

How about Catalina (Cati) or Eulalia (Lali). They are quite old fashioned but I've always thought rather pretty.

Or Ilona or Ramona.

My friend's little girl is called Alma, which is another old fashioned Italian name. How about Monica or Elisa, pretty much universal.

GE - Marea means tide. Nausea means nausea. At least round here nr Milan it does. It's a pretty crap car though, maybe it induced feelings of nausea when you saw it?

My DD has an Italian name which sounds the same in both languages so in that respect works well in English. It has not been mentioned and I'm not saying it just in case someone nicks it at in ends up in the UK top 10. It's a bit of an old lady's name here so not many of them locally either.

Clara means "clear" in Spanish
The name means "brilliant, famous".

I like it.
Laura is a good name, though the Spanish pronouce it LOW-RA.

I like Isabella, Isadora.

My Dad's Spanish, in his family we women and girls called Ana, Ana Mari, Ana Clare, Nadia, Inmaculada, Ana Lia, Dolores (we call her Loly) and Micah.

There was a thread about people who have all of the same sex the other day. You have a 35% chance of having a boy and a 65% chance of having another girl. According to The Lancet or was it somebody on Mumsnet doing a straw poll. Can't remember now.

I quite like it and it's not that unusual in Cornwall plus is a family name for DH. But I am adamant I don't want to keep explaining two of my DSs' names.

Will probably be a third DD anyway

Belen is lovely. I guess that's no more religious than using Bethany. I know Bethany is not a form of Bethlehem but it's a place in Israel.

Does Clara mean Shandy?! Never knew that.
What is the Cornish form of Richard? Intrigued....

Not rude, i think a lot of Spanish people would agree! They're pretty names though, esp. with Spanis accent.

I like Dolores as well (Dolly/Lola/Lolly for short) but it means sorrow, which seems a bit cruel to give to a baby.

Yeah, i think even in Spain it's considered a little fanatical. Though Belen is very popular and it means Bethlehem. I like it but DH said it's too like 'Bell-end'. Charming.

Love Clara (though it also means 'shandy') and Isadora/Dora/Theodora

Blimey Purificación sounds like a bottled mineral water! I am not drawn to anything too ecclesiastical. Anunción for example, quite pretty but I can't get past the catholikkyness of it.
