Emily Rose or Lily Catherine?

I like both Emily and Lily as first anmes but struggling to decide. I think Catherine as middle name to a short soft name like Lily gives it a lot of stronger classic vibe and it’s the name of my dhs grandma who just recently passed away.

I love Emily too although I know it’s way past its peak and think rose is prettier with it than Catherine.

thoughts?

I must be the only one but I think Emily Rose is so pretty.

How about Catherine Rose, that’s a lovely name IMHO

Everyone thinks Emily Rose is pretty, that's why there's one in every class!

Actually prefer Lily Rose.

caringcarer · 27/07/2025 23:27

I'd go Catherine Rose

RuthW · 27/07/2025 23:24

Catherine Rose would be my choice.

Emily and Lily are dated.

Enough4me · 27/07/2025 23:13

Emily Joy was my name for my little boy

LizzieBet14 · 27/07/2025 23:11

Lily Catherine ❤️

WWomble · 27/07/2025 23:08

Lily is too popular for me to choose it. Also not keen on flower names. But I love Emily and Catherine, so Emily Catherine gets my vote!

Both terrible

Why are they both terrible? I don’t particularly like Emily rose because it’s common but lily Catherine is nice enough.

Whippetlovely · 27/07/2025 22:43

Both terrible

legoplaybook · 27/07/2025 22:39

I'd go with Catherine as a first name, there are just so many Lilys and Emilys around.
I've childminded 3 Lilys and 2 Emilys over the last few years but no Catherines (or Kate/Kitty/Katy)

TheaBrandt1 · 27/07/2025 22:37

Catherine Lily as I’m so bored of Lily and Emily there are loads of them

Whycantyouwhisper · 27/07/2025 22:35

Emily Catherine

JillyGiraffe · 27/07/2025 22:33

Lilly Catherine or Emily Catherine. I know an Emily Rose who is mid 30’s.

BootballJoy · 27/07/2025 22:32

Lily Catherine (or Emily Catherine if you prefer Emily).

CoolMorningDew · 27/07/2025 22:05

Emily Rose 👍

user2848502016 · 27/07/2025 21:37

Lily Catherine

Or just to throw another option into the mix, I prefer Catherine Rose

I know two Emily Roses!

Hope your surname is unusual!!

out of curiosity how old are they? Emily rose does feel slightly less timeless as a combination and I’m curious if most Emily roses are of a similar age. Although I think it’s pretty I’d hate to give my dd a name that could be pinpointed to a specific time.

Lily Catherine is a gorgeous name! I do also really like Catherine shortened to Kitty or Kate x
