I've loved the name Hedy for a long time, because of Hedy Lamarr, but I do think Hedy is best suited to a nickname. Hedwig I love but I am not German, however I am from Devon (not quite Cornwall) and came across the name Hedra, a Cornish name.

What do people think of Hedra (nn Hedy)?

I like it. But I did misread it as Hendra initially (campsite in Cornwall).

Better as a middle name: Polly Hedra.

It makes me think of Single White Female but I don’t hate it.

Bloody hell no

Edwina? If you can get Ned from Edward I can’t see why you can’t get Hed(y) from Edwina

In Greek it means the face of a geometric solid.
Not keen.
