So I posted about whether you think Mia Imogen goes as a given first and second name and to be honest.. it got slated 🙈🤣 which I shouldn’t care about but, I do. In fact each poll I’ve put up about middle name options for this baby l, no one seems to like 😭
So I’m asking as two individual first name options…
Mia or Imogen?

A quarter of a century ago there were three Mias in my NCT class and loads in both sons’ classes.

Most were pronounced ‘Meea’ but a significant number were pronounced ‘Mya’ so it put me off name.

You can’t go wrong with Imogen. Class name!

Docwillseeyounow · 23/07/2025 19:03

Mia. Imogen reminds me of a baby goat and too try hard.

KayEmAy · 23/07/2025 19:01

Team Mia!

Hazelmaybe · 22/07/2025 20:20

Imogen, there are lots of Mia’s who are teens now so may be dated?

DuchessOfNarcissex · 22/07/2025 07:19

Mia seems to be falling in popularity, so will likely date her to the first 25 years of the century.
Babies called Mia in England & Wales since 1996

The adding of another middle name is overkill.

HelloHattie · 22/07/2025 07:11

I love Imogen and really dislike Mia. It feels dated and reminds me of me me me.

You could add another name in to help if flow if you want Mia. Mia Rose Imogen Mia Hope Imogen etc

HappydaysArehere · 22/07/2025 06:46

WildCherryBlossom · 14/07/2025 07:33

Why not add another middle name - eg Mia Rose Imogen to help with the flow.

They are both beautiful names.

Really like that. Sounds beautiful.

WhereAreWeNow · 22/07/2025 06:44

Mia. I met a Mia recently and I was thinking what a pretty name it is.

Applepearpeaches · 22/07/2025 06:24

I prefer Mia as you can't shorten it, and if you use Imogen then she might be called a few different versions of the name by family and friends.

How about Mia Louise Imogen?

CarlaLemarchant · 22/07/2025 06:18

Both names are lovely, separately and together. I agree that Mia Imogen doesn’t sound perfect but it actually looks pretty written down and I can’t remember the last time I had to say my children’s full names or the last time they said them themselves. Maybe when we were renewing passports last year? Anyway, point being if you love it, use it.

LivingTheDreamish · 22/07/2025 06:08

Mia Imogen is really pretty OP.

softlyfallsthesnow · 15/07/2025 00:23

Imogen is a lovely name. Classy.

Olidora · 15/07/2025 00:22

Mia Imogen would be my choiceX

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 15/07/2025 00:19

Imogen

Mia is a bit nothingy and got really overdone 20 years ago, so it’s like having a baby in 2000 and calling her Lisa

whynotmereally · 14/07/2025 22:02

I love Mia Imogen
also love both separately

ThatWhiteElephant · 14/07/2025 21:53

I think Mia is a lovely name. Going by this thread it is very popular but I haven’t meet one in real life!

Inthesmallclouds · 14/07/2025 17:03

Imogen
it’s a gorgeous name and I wanted it but husband wasn’t having it

DuchessOfNarcissex · 14/07/2025 12:25

Imogen, definitely. Mia's overused and I don't see the appeal.

Middle names are not used much.

Why not add another middle name - eg Mia Rose Imogen to help with the flow.
Don't do this. Rose is a filler middle name and most other Mias will be Mia Rose.

Mia Imogen will get said as Mee-uh Rimogen.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the lovely comments. Sorry I know the other post wasn’t harsh and people were just giving honest feedback I guess I’ll blame sensitive pregnancy hormones. Just want to get it right 😆
I personally didn’t think Mia Imogen didn’t flow and was surprised to hear majority saying Imogen Mia flows better but I do agree that way round without the two consinents is better.
My Husband prefers Mia as a name over all so looks like we will be going with that as a first name I was just trying to find a way to still incorporate Imogen as it’s such a beautiful name, he said I can choose but I wouldn’t want a first name we’re not both really happy with.
He said he loves Immy if we call her that but I sound have to use Imogen as full I don’t like the idea of using just Immy even though it’s a cute nn.
Third time proving hard we have one of each already and we just agreed and knew their names straight away

Mia is lovely too. I like Mia Imogen, it’s gorgeous.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 14/07/2025 08:29

Imogen, definitely. I don’t like Mia - it seems like half a name to me (even though I know it’s a full name in its own right). The Imogen I know is never abbreviated.

IggyAce · 14/07/2025 08:08

My dd is Imogen and now goes by the nn Midge she was Immy as a toddler.

user1492757084 · 14/07/2025 08:04

okydokethen · 14/07/2025 07:35
