Thoughts on Morris as boys name?

We’re struggling. Love Morris! We like “posh” boy names. But our friends have used many of the names we love.

There’s someone in my church called Morris Morris so it’s been a legitimate first name for at least 80 years. Every time I see his name I think “so good they named him twice”

How about Horatio shortened to horace? Then it’s an actual name rather than surname? Maurice just makes me think everyone will say it is a faulty towers “ManWellll” kind of accent
morris spelt this way is definitely dancer or minor too… I think there are nicer names out there

I always thought it was spelled Maurice (differentiates it from the car, if nothing else) and you can say it in a beautiful French accent, like Maurice Chevalier.

I'd spell it Maurice as a first name, but it's fine. Kind of in keeping with the retro revival but less commonplace than Arthur and Percy. Why not?
