How do you like that?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I can't think of any specific names but I think naming a baby after a current popular TV character (for example people using character names from Game of Thrones) can date quite quickly.
Roman has become more popular in recent years but I don't think it will suddenly become an embarrassing name to have.
I like Roman.
You seem to like it.
Go for it.

ScratCat · 04/07/2025 17:26

Both utterly chavvy.

anotherwordforit · 04/07/2025 17:24

On the surface I do like them BUT Roman seems to have become really popular all of a sudden so I would worry that it may also date quickly. For Romeo I would worry a bit if he didn’t turn out especially good-looking (I know that sounds ridiculous but the connotations are too strong)

failedatlifee · 04/07/2025 17:24

I like Roman but don’t like Romeo, my son was almost Roman but glad I didn’t use it due to popularity

Roman is becoming a little common and will date badly imo

Romeo is more classic and less overused

What are the examples of trendy names that date badly? Could you come up with?

Trending, fashionable names aren’t for me, but if they are for you, go for it.

Well it is a very Common Slavic name we have been using it so many years… decades… and then at some point it becomes trendy… so don’t really know why…

Boy's name. George in Spanish, I think.

Defo not a beautiful name

Why is Daniel not a beautiful name?
What makes a name beautiful?
That's my imaginary son you're insulting 😂😂

If the baby is due imminently you could call him Scorchio.

I checked the meaning… thanks 🥵

@Tkoko defining a name as "beautiful" is quite hard.
If my child had been a boy he would have been called Daniel.
I just liked the name.

Maybe I meant good sounding… you said Roman sounds really bad… yes Daniel is a good classic name… do you like the sound of the name Mattia?

Mattia sounds like a girl's name.

Tkoko · 04/07/2025 13:48

Needmorelego · 04/07/2025 13:44

I like Roman.
I don't think sounds bad.

Sorry my mistake…

I've always liked Matthias.
Not sure if that's from the same meaning/roots as Mattia.

Elvis is a nice soft sounding name.

Doesn't Elvis have same faith as Romeo?
