Opinions please. We are quite set on Felicity we think, middle name I feel needs to be single syllable?

Lovely and distinctive without being weird.

Idk why but it reminds me of that white cat on the aristocats. It’s a little pretentious. Felicity is nice but I think Pearl is too much with it.

Pearl also makes me think of a fluffy white kitten!

I agree that it sounds a bit much together.

I really like Felicity but I think Pearl would need to be with something less interesting in itself - maybe Charlotte Pearl or Catherine Pearl or similar. Felicity Pearl has just a bit much going on. Maybe it’s the sort of happiness/joyful meaning of Felicity then throwing pearls into the mix gets a bit much!

But I love Felicity. It’s feminine without being too frilly, traditional without being overused. Just a really good name.

I really like Felicity but I don't love Pearl as a name, which is illogical because I think pearls, as in jewellery, are beautiful.

I like the combination of Felicity Grace, but I don't think it has to be one-syllable middle name. You will rarely be saying both names together. I have a 3-syllable first name (which I sometimes shorten) and 4-syllable middle name and it hasn't really caused me any problems. I've known a Felicity Mary, which I think is rather nice, and I think Felicity Charlotte sounds good too.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 26/06/2025 01:02

I love Felicity

Single syllable middle names have become a real cliche, so I’d actively avoid

My grandmothers were Pearl and Evelyn hence the suggestion of Pearl as I haven’t really heard it much. Eve/Evelyn seem much more common nowadays.

Evelyn I like as a middle name and I LOVE Evangeline!

Could you try Felicity Evelyn?

TheeNotoriousPIG · 25/06/2025 09:59

I LOVE Felicity, but after reading some of the above comments, perhaps Pearl is not the most suitable middle name! 😆

YorkshireIndie · 25/06/2025 09:41

Felicity is a lovely name!

RedToothBrush · 25/06/2025 09:24

harleq · 25/06/2025 09:11

Oh god 😂

Yep it was the first thing I thought when I saw the names together. Felicity and Pearl are both ok. Together in that order? Absolutely not. She will not thank you.

Duckyfondant · 25/06/2025 09:16

Yes, another here who thought it was a euphemism

Pearl can be slang for clitoris. I would not use the name along with another one that has the nickname Flick

Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this 😬

Felicity is OK, but Pearl isn't. Middle names are rarely used in everyday life and I don't like filler middle names.

If you want a single syllable middle name, Ruth is seems less of a filler.
I'd go for something like your mother's or grandmother's name.

Felicity is okay, Pearl is terrible and def not together.

Calliopespa · 25/06/2025 06:48

JillyGiraffe · 25/06/2025 03:03

Flick Pearl - no, no, no! Felicity is lovely, but you can’t have Pearl as a middle name!

I don’t think they kind of “flow.”
To be a Felicity and a Pearl are two different people altogether.

JillyGiraffe · 25/06/2025 03:03

Flick Pearl - no, no, no! Felicity is lovely, but you can’t have Pearl as a middle name!

RegimentalSturgeon · 24/06/2025 23:24

Pearl is a frightful name; don’t do it. And the combination is horrendous.
Felicity if you absolutely must (I only know one and she scares the shit out of me, but she wears the difficult name well). But I think you should go back to the drawing board unless you actually want to be put in a really crappy home 50 years out…

Calliopespa · 24/06/2025 23:16

SnowFrogJelly · 24/06/2025 22:52

Prefer Fliss to Flick for shortening

I like Fliss, Flick and I know a Fiss and a Flickety!

WildCherryBlossom · 24/06/2025 23:15

I think Felicity Pearl is fabulous.

There have been some bizarre responses to this thread. Something odd in the air today. Ignore it all and stick with your convictions. The whole point of names is to help identify and distinguish people so it would be no good if we all chose the same ones.

Calliopespa · 24/06/2025 23:15

Viviennemary · 24/06/2025 16:18

Don't like Felicity at all. I like Pearl. But Felicity Pearl just doesn't go.

I’m the opposite: love Felicity. Think it is timeless, vivacious and such a lovely meaning.

I know quite a few Felicitys and they are all lovely - fun and successful - and really suit the name.

I don’t feel Pearl is quite in the same league. It’s cute for a little white kitten …

EsotericMnemonic · 24/06/2025 23:12

That’s a beautiful name. Felicity was on the shortlist for my DD.

RedToothBrush · 24/06/2025 23:10

Flick pearl.

No. It sounds like a sex act.

fairislecable · 24/06/2025 23:08

How about Felicity Blaise ?

Ikeameatballs · 24/06/2025 23:04

I love Felicity but not keen on the Felicity Pearl combo.

I like the alliteration suggestions above and other middle names that are longer, I don’t think you should limit yourself to one syllable.

Felicity Frances
Felicity Jean
Felicity Cora
Felicity Charlotte
Felicity Seren
Felicity Nina
Felicity Laura
