What’s your opinion on the name Hannah?

Bonus points for middle name suggestions too

Not a fan personally, but I was born in the 80s and there were lots of Hannah’s, so for me it’s on the boring 80s name list, along with Katie and Laura.

I’m Hannah Lucy - never been called Anna and I like my name. I’m 44 - it seems to go in 20 year cycles.

sauvignonplonk1 · 18/06/2025 19:24

Best name ever, mine is now 29 ☺️

Usernamenotavailable19 · 18/06/2025 19:22

It’s a bit boring

Coffeeishot · 18/06/2025 19:19

Oh Hannah Rose is lovely.

Mimilamore · 18/06/2025 19:19

Mine’s 46…

Hannah is a nice name and I think it would pair with a more unusual second name or I think you could do 2 middle names
Hannah Snowdrop Skye
Hannah Primrose Skye
Hannah Precious Skye
Hannah Skye Blessing

They're awful.

WhereAreWeNow · 18/06/2025 18:52

Lovely name

Like many on here I do prefer Anna - I like that it’s simple and elegant and I’ve met ones of very varied ages and it’s internationally more popular too I think (as I’ve met a few of different nationalities). It would be top of my girls list if there wasn’t a young one already in the family.

Nothing wrong with Hannah as such though, it just happens that most of the ones I’ve met are 30’s- 50’s. So I tend to think of it more as a “Mum” name rather than a younger persons one iykwim.

retiredpickme · 18/06/2025 18:36

Love it and much nicer than Anna imo

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 18/06/2025 18:32

It’s a lovely nice. Bonus points for it being a palindrome as well (as is Anna of course)

IsItWickedNotToCare · 18/06/2025 18:27

I agree that Anna is nicer IMO, but really it's up to you 😊

Yuja · 18/06/2025 18:25

I love Hannah. Would have been DC2 if he had been a girl!

PinkSwatch · 18/06/2025 18:11

DiamondThrone · 18/06/2025 11:37

There seemed to be a lot around who would be about twenty five now.

Mine's 18! 😂

rhrni · 18/06/2025 18:05

I don’t love it, but that’s because there were loads of Hannah’s in my class at school (I’m 35 now).

It feels ‘dated’ to me, but everyone else seems to love it so feel free to ignore me!!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 18/06/2025 18:02

Move to West Yorkshire.
Call her Hannah and it'll be pronounced Anna anyway.

Cocktailsandcheese · 18/06/2025 17:48

Really nice name 😌

BoleynMemories13 · 18/06/2025 17:31

I love a traditional classic, so it's a yes for me. It's surprisingly low in the charts now.

I would use a middle name with meaning, maybe a family name?

NewLifter · 18/06/2025 15:36

I love it. I very strongly disagree that its an old lady name. The oldest Hannah I know is around 40 and I've known a few baby Hannahs over the last year even (I'm a midwife). It's a popular name and definitely not associated with being old fashioned!

What’s everyone’s opinion of Hannah Skye

It doesn't matter what the middle name is.

Torkieshorkie · 18/06/2025 15:33

Sorry but I think it’s a really ugly frumpy name

kentgardens · 18/06/2025 15:32

I have a 36 year old Hannah and I don’t think she’s ever been confused with Anna. She is Hannah Lucy which I still love obviously!

HugoYorway · 18/06/2025 15:25

Not keen on Skye, it seems a bit downmarket compared to Hannah.
