What’s your opinion on the name Hannah?

Bonus points for middle name suggestions too

It's slightly unremarkable and I grew up with many in my school, seems slightly of its time maybe. Definitely a safe name though.

OopsieeDaisy · 09/07/2025 13:58

I think it’s lovely and whilst I did go to school with a few (I’m in my 30s) I don’t think it sounds dated. I love the name Anna as well.
I think you could use Hannah Skye despite them being very different types of names since middle names aren’t used much anyway and it does flow well, or how about:
Hannah Sophie
Hannah Katherine
Hannah Marie

My lovely Godmother was Hannah and my daughters best friend is also Hannah so a big yes from me 🙂

Dandelionsand4leafclover · 09/07/2025 05:40

Love it 🥰

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 08/07/2025 23:57

I like it, and I think Skye goes well as a middle name too. Totally disagree with comments as to it not working because Hannah is classic and Skye is modern - that’s exactly why it does work.

Honestly? Dated. Lovely name but it peaked quite sometime ago. So most people would imagine she was older than she really is.

I’m one and I’ve always liked my name ☺️ Never got confused with Anna either. There were definitely a lot of us in the 90’s but don’t hear it as much anymore.

(and I’m not a dull frumpy old woman) 😉

Sunshinegalhere · 18/06/2025 12:01

See for me it would be the other way round! Anna seems like an older ladies name to me than Hannah for some reason!

Anna and Annie are v popular right now. Annabel also, to a lesser degree.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 28/06/2025 11:32

MrsdMrsIMrsffi · 18/06/2025 23:38

I agree with some pp as I see Hannah is a dull frumpy old woman, it almost lacks personality I think, I see it as plain as Jane.

Anna is lovely and classy.
Skye is lovely.

Hannah Skye DOES NOT sound good in any way together- you are taking a really old boring name and putting it with something more modern with character and ‘fun’ vibes.

Skye Anna goes better.

or Skyler Anne

Skyler is ludicrous and what is euphemistically termed a ‘naughty girls’ name’

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 28/06/2025 11:30

I like Anna better, but Hannah is nice and it’s less overdone

Hannah Allegra
Hannah Verity
Hannah Juliet
Hannah Francesca

I think Hannah is slightly low energy for some reason so lively middle name is good. I wouldn’t go with Sky/e though, it’s very faddy and will date.

Ikeameatballs · 27/06/2025 20:56

It’s ok. I like the fact it’s a palindrome.

RobertaFirmino · 27/06/2025 20:51

Nice name. as old as the hills but doesn't sound dated. Plus, as a PP said, Hannahs are always lovely!

Lucillebatwings · 27/06/2025 17:55

It’s nice but I prefer Anna.

AM130674 · 27/06/2025 17:41

I have a Hannah Rose, just turned 16 🥰

undercovermarsupial · 27/06/2025 17:01

I’m a Hannah and I really like my name. Didn’t like it much as a teenager (because it wasn’t ‘cool’ and no real way to shorten it), but now I like it. It’s one of those names that people don’t have preconceived ideas of what you’re like when they hear it because it’s used pretty evenly across lots of different demographics and, to me, has a nice sound. I don’t like Anna as much, it’s a bit nothingy to me. If I was naming myself I’d prefer it spelled Hanna.

sammy7868 · 19/06/2025 10:04

I’m Hannah Louise (32) there was only one other Hannah in my year at school

gattocattivo · 19/06/2025 09:12

Beautiful classic name which isn’t overused.

I don’t think Skye goes well as the middle name because Skye isn’t a classic name with history. I would use a less modern, faddy middle name. However as middle names are rarely used, it won’t be a big deal

roshi42 · 19/06/2025 08:52

Love it. My best friend's name. Simple, pretty, ancient yet modern, soft but has something to it. Just a lovely name, any time any where!

For middle names... check your initials to see if any starting letters would/wouldn't work? Any family names you like? Do you want something more 'out there' or something equally timeless?

Hannah Marie
Hannah Alice
Hannah Beatrice
Hannah Poppy

Eenameenadeeka · 19/06/2025 03:53

It's beautiful! Timeless and suits every age

eurotravel · 19/06/2025 00:11

Always liked it

LasVegass · 18/06/2025 23:38

I think Hannah Skye is lovely.

DD has two Hannah friends. They are 20. We also have two neighbours, late 30s/early 40s, I think. It’s a pretty name.
