Hmm I don't like Angelina. How about Angelica?

CraigsWife · 23/05/2008 10:21

Angelina, Angelina, please bring down your conertina....

I used to sing it when I was a kid.

Amandella · 23/05/2008 10:15

I know an Angelina - she's lovely but I do think the name is a bit twee. Angelina Ballerina is what we always call her though!

SmoothandWilkie · 23/05/2008 09:30

BTW - I actually like Angelina Jolie

Coffeeplease · 22/05/2008 20:31

I know a little girl named Angelina. It gets shortened to Angel. Suits her very well.

I don't think the Ms Jolie connection lasts once the baby owns the name, IYSWIM.

CraigsWife · 22/05/2008 20:10

If Angelina is a family name and you like it go for it.

If you were interested because your hubby had posters of A Jolie in his shed I would say not!

CraigsWife · 22/05/2008 20:07

a bit too much for me i'm afraid, like christa though

Sidge · 22/05/2008 19:58

Not really keen.

How about Christabel??

SmoothandWilkie · 22/05/2008 19:51

I quite Angelia (not Angelina) just a thought

CraigsWife · 22/05/2008 19:50

It's a family name - but i see that people will think of A Jolie, I see that now and it's fine.

PuppyMonkey · 22/05/2008 19:49

not keen. people will assume you admire angelina jolie. You don't do you?

myredcardigan · 22/05/2008 19:45

Look...It's just a normal name. Not tacky or ugly or made up. It's just that most people either think of a precocious little mouse or a beautiful woman who steals other women's husbands. If neither of these bother you then go for it.

I started a thread asking for opinions on Josephine and Jocelyn. DH really wants Jocelyn and is devastated that so many people seem to have an adverse reaction to it. But that's the nature of the beast. You ask opinions and people give them. Then you go for it anyway or change your mind.

CraigsWife · 22/05/2008 19:36

2 syllables - it goes rather well
I see there is a mixed feeling...like any name I guess

cornsilk · 22/05/2008 19:32

How many syllables in your surname? If 1, yes. If 2, maybe. More than 2 - no.
