Nadine.

i don’t know of any other Nadine’s. Maybe “nad” connotations??

How do you get Nad from Nay-deen? If you call her Nad, people will automatically assume the Nad-een pronunciation of her full name.

Regardless, I'm in agreement with the majority I'm afraid. The name is dated and 'Nad' makes me think gonads. It's not a name I would choose but each to their own.

It's my name and I know it's hated now because of the Tory woman.

But mine is pronounced Nay-deen and this pronunciation is generally shortened to Nade not Nad.

I think of Dorries - and while her classmates won’t for obvious reasons, I wouldn’t want anything in my life that is associated with that vile piece of work.

Awful. My daughter had one in her class and the girl was always called ‘Nads’ which unfortunately always made me think of the hair removal stuff or ‘gonads’.

She wasn’t very nice either.

Much prefer similar Nadia as it’s not the “Nad” sound that’s the issue imo - it’s the “ine/een” one. Most of the “ine/een” names tend to sound quite dated - Pauline, Christine, Maxine, Kathleen, Doreen, Maureen etc are generally at least middle aged, if not often older (I know there’s Nadine Coyle but she’s the exception that proves the rule, unless it’s a more commonplace name for younger women in Ireland?)

So for that reason it would be a no from me for Nadine, as personally I like the sound of names that are a bit more classic/could suit age.
