@waxymoron ,I don't think it's dodgy. Isn't it from Margaret? A friend has a Maisie now in her 20s.

@Biscuitsneeded , you loved the name and chose it when it was about the 73 rd most popular name for boys. Now there are thousands of Theos and Theodores registered every year, you were ahead of the trend.

I do sympathise. I called my daughter Evie in 1983 and felt happy that I had found a different name. I cannot believe how popular it has become.

I'm sad to see this. I have a Theo, but he's 18, and when we named him we didn't know any others and genuinely thought we'd found a great name. Now it seems they are everywhere. I still think it's a lovely name and it suits him, but I don't like the thought of it becoming the Darren of its day!

All the Evie Ava Eve Emily Amelia Ellie-type names. Olivia has been most popular since forever and I don't understand why.

For boys, Kayden, Jayden, Jack. I'm not suggesting people choose yooneek names, but there are hundreds to choose from.

I'm not happy about the resurgence of Maisie and it being considered a dodgy name! Our 37 year old is maisie and no one used it then!! Grrr

Some of them even share the same surname!

I have an Ottilie. She’s in her mid 20s. It was unheard of when we named her. It’s a family name, and she was named after a great aunt.

Common baby names now - I’m a bit out of the loop but I know three small Olivia’s, too many Evie/Ava/Evas to mention, and a plethora of Lily/Lilly/Lilis.

I personally am dying for time to cycle around and give us Jane, Janet, Carol, Margaret, Susan, John, David, Stephen, Paul, Andrew, RIchard, Geoff and wild crazy eccentric names like those!
